My Fiero is in need of new tires.

I currently have 4 Michelin Pilots (215/60/14/H) mounted on original 14" Fiero rims. They are speed rated at 210 Km/hr.

Two of the tires are 14 years old and the other two are not quite as old at about 7 years and 5 years.

The rims were all restored and refinished by Greens Automotive about 10 months ago.  They are really beautiful and have only about 700 km on them since the work was done. Thus I do not want to get rid of them, especially since the Fiero is going to become a Collector Car very soon

My problem is, I can't find any performance tires, in the size I need, to replace the Pilots with. I've searched all over the internet and NO LUCK. My only option so far is a set of BF Goodrich Radial T/A's which Kal Tire has dug up for me, but they are a bit dated in design (I had them on my van in 1969!)

What do other Fiero owners do for 14" performance tires?  Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Is gettting rid of my rims the only solution? I hope not!!!

There is a Yoko AVID Performance Touring tire, otherwise you get into RComp race tires...really hard size to find unless you consider different size: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Compare1.jsp?width=215%2F&ratio=60&diameter=14&startIndex=0&search=true&pagelen=20&pagenum=1&pagemark=1&RunFlat=All&x=87&y=12 - http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Compare1.jsp?width=215%2F& ratio=60&diameter=14&startIndex=0&search=true&am p;pagelen=20&pagenum=1&pagemark=1&RunFlat=All&am p;x=87&y=12

You can also try, http://tiretrends.com/ - Tire Trends in Coquitlam

They have really good deals on tires, they are kinda like Tire Rack only they are local which is kinda nice.

The 14" wheels can use anything from a 205-225 and not look funny, as for height, you are kinda stuck with the 60 series. 50 is visually too short, 70 makes the car drive funny. Unless you go really narrow, like 195/70/14 which I think would be a step back.

Personally I ran 225/60/14's for the longest time and loved them.

Thanks for the tips.

I ended up with a set of matching 215/60/14 BFG Radial T/A's (all manufactured in the 22nd week of 08).  Got them from Kal Tire, who assured me they wern't the same tires that I had in 1969. We'll see!

If they don't work, there will be a set of "like new" original Fiero wheels for sale!  Confused

Cheers

Who you asking?...lol...I bought mine from a buddy at OK Tire, $400 installed.

Off 1010tires, here is the current price based on 215 all around, a wee bit cheaper if you stagger as per stock, but as a daily driver no need and you can rotate them.  The Falken ZE-912 is a great price for the tire...read the reviews, helps based on your needs and budget:).  Then if you are looking for a budget performance tire like I invested in for autoX this year, check out the Falken RT-615's:)

my budget is around $400 installed. Is the $400 the normal cost, or with a discount through your friend?
