extra cooling?

Is there any way or is there some sort of kit to make the engine run cooler or get more ventalation just because i dont want my engine running that hot

How hot is "that hot"?

Are you referring to coolant temp or under the decklid air temp?

There are tons of options, but as Patrick asked, what do you mean by hot.

If its cooling system, your simplest option is to get a cooler thermostat. Canadian Tire sells a 180 thermostat for the Fiero for about 20 bucks. If your cooling system can't keep the car cool in this weather, you need to find out what is wrong. I don't think my rad fan has come on once in the last 2 months.

You can also buy a low temp rad fan switch from www.rodneydickman.com There is an off the shelf one you can buy from Lordco or Napa, but I don't have time to look up the part number.

Running a Fiero too cool, will do nothing but kill your gas mileage, make the car run bad, and even wear out the engine faster.

what im reffering to is the under the deck lid heat because it seems like its holding to much hot air in it rather then releasing it

Well general engine bay temps, can be caused by ignition timing settings. If the timing is retarded it will allow the last bit of exhaust flame to actually blow out the exhaust pipe, causing your exhaust system to heat the engine bay more than it should. So I would check that. Try moving the timing 2 degree's over stock and post back as to how that is working for you.

Other reason can be weak ignition which causing not all the fuel to be burned in the chamber pumping small amount of fuel to be expelled into the exhaust system which then get heated and car ignite downstream of head. Your engine can run nice and cool, and yet engine bay temps will skyrocket.

Your last option if everything is is working fine, is to get 2 10" electric fans, mount them to the bottom of the grills with thermal switch's that turn them on when the under hood temps get too high, and turn them off when you want extra heat in the engine bay. (IE during warm up, driving in -20 weather)

Well, it definitely gets hot under there, but that's just the way it is.

Was it not getting this hot under there in the heat of the summer? It seems odd that the temperature in your engine compartment is a concern now that it's relatively cool outside.
