Just replaced all the brakes on this Fiero I bought, ( new rotors, pads, calipers all around, new master cylinder, brake hoses, e cables) Had several attemps with Fenco parts to get good non leaking, properly machined bosses etc. Should be all good to go but still only have half a pedal, locking up the front brakes in my gravel driveway. Good old fashion bleeding, + power bleeding, good vacuum and soft pedal with booster hooked up. Bled a gallon + thru the system but still only half a pedal. Rear brakes hold with e brake.......help

Have issue with one headlight not always opening but thats for another time. If it doesn't stop good, it won't be on the road anyway.

Maybe give the shimming tutorial a try and see how that goes, i know it helped me alot.

but read through the whole 'Brakes' section, it might have some helpful suggestions. You could also try tapping the calipers lightly with a hammer, and tip them around, air bubbles can sometimes get trapped.

Might be too obvious, but... Did you properly BENCH BLEED the master cylinder before installing it?

You simply can't get all the air out if you don't (it gets trapped up in the nose of it).

wouldn't power bleeding have done that? And isn't it the brake booster where crud can get built up, and brake loose if you push the pedal to the floor while bleeding the brakes? I hear that can cause problems.

edit: Oh ya, and get the arse end up as high as possible while bleeding, that might help :P Kinda obvious, but w/e.

Oh, ya i can see now how that wouldn't help, the master cyl can sometime be mounted on an angle, and get a bubble trapped at the top area right? Another reason to get the rear end up high, those ramps are really helpful, and they are on sale at canadian tire i think...
