So I finally realized my leak was transmission. It looks like its coming
out of a hose near my back drivers side tire. How hard is it to fix/replace that? |

Going to assume you mean it's coming from one of the rubber lines that
goes from the tranny, heading left? Not from one of the hardlines itself (rust etc). Super easy. Pop by Lordco and pick up about 3ft of transmission cooler line (not fuel line, not vacuum line, not... well you get the idea). Get 6 new hose clamps as well. I want to say it's 3/8" hose, but double check - it might be 5/16". Stick a tray under that area to catch the small bit of ATF that will dump. Slice the lines in the middle. Undo the hose clamps all the way. Now you've got a free end you can grab and twist to pull the old lines off. Note which one went to which spot (or just do them one at a time!). Measure twice, cut once the new hoses. Longer is better. Use extended tang clamps, and don't overtighten. Run, cycle through gears, check for leaks. Done! |
