Now this could be a fun car for someone that wants to get into Fiero’s for the first time, or someone that wants a 2nd Fiero to use as a track car.

Side Note, Lisa is going to be putting her V8 Fiero up for sale, for little more than 1/2 of the price of this car, shortly.  We just want to get it cleaned up first.

Any chance some here could trouble shoot the high idle issue?

Like what Dawg said, the only way to get a high idle is too much air getting in.  So start by plugging vaccume lines and checking to see what the IAC is doing.  Then go from their.

I don't know history or anything but I can try to hook up with the seller and get a good look at it for you?  I am in Victoria.  His number is in the ad as well so why not call him up and talk to him?

Cheers

I have tried to call the seller but have not been able to make contact yet. Was hoping to get more details and maybe a better pictures of the car. If are close and could get a look at the car that would be awesome.

OK,  Just got off the phone with one of the owners.  She was saying that the car was to be a family project but they all ended up getting into other things in life so the car has been sitting for quite some time.  They put a new battery in it and it fired right up.

From the owner:
  • $50k in parts is not an exaggeration
  • Full HELD/RYAN/West Coast Fabricators front suspension (paid more for that than they are asking)
  • 88 rear cradle
  • Painless wiring harness
  • 12" wilwood brakes all round
  • custom prom
  • No expense spared when putting this together
  • Interior is not beautiful but not garbage either
  • driver's typical bump wear
  • typical dash edge beat up from years of knees
  • paint job terrible.
    • Used to be red and someone painted a very poor coat of white
    • runs in the paint etc.
  • Headlight motor not working (not uncommon)
    • I just bought a Dickman rebuild kit myself
  • Getrag rebuilt when 305 went in
  • Archie adapter plate
  • electric water pump
  • engine idles high
    • starts idling about 1500 and then as you tap the throttle it increases and settles in around 2000
    • they replaced the TB thinking it was sticking
    • She thinks that was possibly part of the problem but still idling
    • Thinks it might well be the Fiero throttle cable setup

She has a fellow coming from Seattle to look at the car tomorrow and she thinks it might well be sold.  If you want me to go tonight, get back in touch with me right away and I will make arrangements to go have a look.

She says it needs to go to a good home for someone to play with. She/they are taking a HUGE loss so if you are interested, she will take the first person with money in hand.

I am away Friday and Saturday so I will call her again on Sunday to see if it is sold or not if you don't want me to go see it tonight and make her an offer.

Cheers
Don

Hey Don,

Thanks for finding out all the info you had better luck making contact with them then I did. I just got off work and didn't see your post earlier in the day. I will try and get a hold of them on the weekend and if all goes well I might ask you to have a quick look at it for me if you are close and willing. If it sells to the person from Seattle then that is the way it goes.

Thanks again

I didn't get a chance to call the lady back this weekend.  Did you get hold of her and is the car still for sale?

Cheers

I can offer a little bit of info, the person from Seattle did not buy the car.  The reason I know this is they just came and bought our V8 Fiero.  They said they looked at it and although the pics looked great, the overall condition of the car was not very good.   Which was the exact opposite of our car.  Ours has sat for over 4 years since the last day permit and looked bad.  (we did wash it so it looks better) However our car is complete with only 140,000kms on it and the interior is showroom perfect. Seats don't even have a scuff let alone a tear in them.   Plus with our car being $3000 cheaper at $2500 it left them lots of extra cash to mod and tweak the car.   I can PM you the email address of the Seattle person if you wish to speak to them directly.

I don't want to buy it myself but Twinn was looking so I was wondering if anything happened.

Dave, good to hear your sold so you can put some cash towards the other projects....

Twinn;

If you wasn't me to go have a look drop a line.  I would have a chat with the person from Seattle Dave has contact info for first though as they would have a bunch of info on it.

Cheers
