I have seen a couple posts about what to look for when buying. I am fine with what to look for on a stock car.
I am going to look at an 88GT 3800SC 5 spd on the weekend. Originally a CA car. He rates the car an 8.5/10 condition wise. Says the conversion was done right etc. 150k miles on the car 70k on the engine. Now I know mileage is not as important as maintenance.( I have seen and owned some really bad low mile cars) but is there specific things to look for on these swaps? The pics look good and I know what the conversion costs to do yourself.,so his price of 8-9k seems reasonable?..........Problem is Fiero prices vary so much it's hard to determine what a good price is. I sold my bone stock 86 GT auto for $3500 ten years ago and it seems prices have gone up. |

Hmm... I don't know. There was a 4.5L V8, 6-Speed with Poly'd everything and in mint condition for just a thousand more recently. 8-9K seems a tad steep, in my books, anyways.

The '88 GT that Tristan is referring to is Here and the asking price was $9750 obo. Quite a car. Then of course there was club member Blair's real nice '85 Fiero GT with a 3800sc/5sp getrag and his asking price was $5500 obo. Now that was a great deal for the person who got it! Yeah, as Patrick pointed out, 8-9K seems a tad steep, given what the market has been doing as of late.
