So, the '86GT is back plated on the road.
Scored even LOWER than I did last year - and the readings were about 1/3 or less the average reading then! I'll post the actual numbers later (paper work is in the car). The funny part though - I'm standing in the little booth watching them run it on the dyno (guy stalled it first time - ha ha). You can see the booth in the next lane of course. There's an asian couple (about mid/late 20's with baby in arms) in there getting there Honda something-or-another tested. Both of them are just standing there STARING at MY car the whole time! They'd talk a bit, point, keep staring... it amused me. |

Yep its a royal pain in the arse. 23 bucks per year to test, and if you fail its another 23 bucks, and you keep paying it until you pass.
Most people dump about $100 into there car each year to make sure it is in top condition before the test. I always budget about $200 to get my cars through air-care. I hate it, but its part of the cost of living on the south coast area of the BC Mainland. |

Guess you don't want to hear that I simply washed the goo off the outside, accidently ran it through the test with 23psi in the tires, and had almost year old regular gas in the tank then eh?
(AND still scored cleaner than last year!) |

I will bet that the motor is damn near stock or completly stock, and you have all the emisssions equip and probably even gasp a catylitic converter on it.

Not stock (cam, roller rockers, bla bla) - but it IS damn near brand new (only has a few months use on it). No EGR (usual PROM delete etc), it does have a cat, but it's rather old and probably dead. Poor kitty.
