Help. Just joined again. Was a member 12 years ago.

Took my 86 2M6 out of storage. I am somewhat mechanically inclined.

Installed new battery. Dropped fuel tank. Emptied it and flushed it. Changed fuel pump/strainer. Tested old one and it was seized. Reinstalled tank and installed new filter. Added fresh fuel.

OK. It will only start if I use starting fluid in the throttle body throat. Runs briefly.

What should I look for next?

You could try the fuel pump relay,on the fire wall beside
The Air breather box,in the Eng well,it should Click! Just
For a Sec,or two when you turn the key on,an you will here
The pump cycle all so,fuses are all so a thing to check.
Good
Joe
New pump,right!

Thanks for helping. Yes fuel tank dropped, new pump/strainer,filter.

I have fuel at the engine as I can hear the pump priming. I also get lots of pressure at the tire type valve on the top of the engine when I depress the valve. It will run if I add fuel to the throttle body but only until the fuel is used up. This tells me it has spark but no fuel delivery. Any suggestions.

Injector fuses, there are X2 one for each bank,in the fuse box.all so
check the plug in the Eng well, the wide one right beside where
the Rad cap stem is,it feeds power,Signal to the Injectors.
sounds like your fuel SYS is working ok.Would be good to check
your Fuel Presser, the little Tire valve is where you Tap it off to
check. cheers
good luck.

Thanks Snowman.

Took it one step furthur. Purchased a set of 6 new injectors. Spent 1.5 hours pulling plenum and gear off to get to the fuel rail hold down. Changed all 6 injectors. Put everything back. She started almost instantly. Ran rough found out I had missed connecting one vac line. She runs but a little fast around 2700 RPM. Sounds like I have a vac leak at the Plenum. Guess I should have used the new gaskets I bought. The old ones still looked good. Lesson learned.

OK. I have her up and running. Found the vac leak, gave her a new set of leads, cap, rotor, pcv. That 2.8 is running like a top. Took her on the highway. Lots of vibration around 110km. I can feel it in my seat as well as the steering wheel. Maybe a rebalance of the tires. Are Fieros prone to anything else that can cause that vibration?

Yes I will send some pics.
