    Posted: 21 August 2011 at 10:40pm

With the chance that Lisa and I might move to Oregon, I need to locate a member that would like to hold onto the club tools, and such. Preferably it would be someone that has a home garage.  As there is a SNAP ON Engine analyzer, the Club Scan tool, and several other items that I would donate for club use.   I may even donate Nigel's old Tool Box which might make a great stand for the engine analyzer with cupboards for parts and stuff.

Please post up your names and locations so we can be choose who gets all this.   If no one can take it all, I am sure we will be able to split it up.

This won't happen TODAY, however there are a few donations to the club like the Engine Scanner that could go to the right person as well as the small tool box that I would send out as soon as someone comes and provides transport.

Nobody's volunteering here

Sorry, I don't have a garage nor do I have room to store more tools. However, I am willing to store some (not all) club stuff. Only problem is, I can't make all the meetings, for many reasons. But I will do what I can.   I'm in North Delta.

Maybe if there is any moneys in our budget, the club can rent a storage locker for club stuff, and keys or combo given to the club executive to access for meetings and club tech sessions.

My concern for WestcoastFieros of BC is if David goes, so does the club. He and Lisa have been the driving force and the only really committed persons to our club.

I know David had discussed this before and not much came out of it, but we do need to have some kind of formality and longterm planning for our club if we are to continue and something happens such that David and Lisa cannot be here. I don't like it, but it appears to be a necessary evil in such case as this, when our driving forces and founders need to move on.

Just some thoughts.

All the tools can be stored in Cloverdale.  Dave, I plan on keeping the storage if you decide to go.  I've got interested parties lined up to share the costs.

As far as the club goes, I have just spent much effort learning all about our club's Forum software and how to keep it all running.  I'm using the same program on another project.

So I can easily administer the site.  Beyond that, we need to combine our resources to keep it afloat.  All I'm saying is I can keep the site alive and running.  That's a start.

Alright here we go.

Club domain and billing for that will be taken care of by Tim on his Credit card. The club funds need to be paid back to him. I will continue to manage the domain hosting of the site.  Note the Domain hosting is not the site itself its just where we store a great number of files and the name registration itself as well as all the email accounts.

The Forum is a separate entity on its own hosted through Graeme.

The Club prizes, books and related will be also he brought to the meetings by Tim.  The prize draw will either come to an end once the current stuff is gone, unless we get donations or someone is willing to commit one day a month to read through the CDN Tire Flyers, Xs Cargo Flyers, Princess Auto Flyers and buy prizes when they are on HUGE sales.  IE when CDN Tire puts a $50 tool on sale for 9.99 we grab it.

I am going to request that Glenn hold the cash box or at the least take care of the money and give the cash box to Tim at the end of the meetings.  He has been the one helping Lisa at the sign in table.

I would like to see Damian, Brian, Tristan and Patrick work on the meeting Minuit's.  They are all great at public speaking.   Damian you seem to be amazing at setting up runs and I think with Kens help the club will have lots of fun stuff to do.

Damian the cost on the locker is right around $115 per month.  I would prefer to sell my contents in the locker as one batch, or allow you to pick out a few items from the stash for yourself each month to cover the extra cost.  Lisa and I will continue paying our portion until my parts are gone or someone else has taken over my area.  If someone wants to make a bulk offer on everything I have in the locker, I would be open to offers.  There are only 3 things that I NEED to keep.  My spare engine as the motor in the 88 is about to blow up any day now.  My snow tires for the 88 and the glove for the dash that I have been coveting all these years.

There will be other Tools that I am going to be selling.  2 Boxes actually

A Matercraft top/bottom box combo and a Waterloo top/bottom box combo.  Both will be filled with tools and have an asking price of $400 per set.  However probably more like 300 for a club member.  Lisa is considering selling both Her Fiero's the V8 and the nicer V6 show car. I don't want her to, but if someone makes a decent offer they may go and we will just buy her another one in the states.

Back to the club.

I don't want to see it die.  I love this club and it has been my baby for years well 13 years to be exact.  Lisa and I have put our heart and soul into it.

I will make a software package available to anyone that wants to do photo hosting on the site so they can do the gallery's like I do where I post up 50 pics at a shot.   (Express Thumbnail Gallery Maker, a photo Image Rezier Tool, Filezilla to upload the pics, and request login and passwords to access the club server.)

Now the question is, Damian do you have the time or ability to move this stuff to the storage locker.  My trailer is not insured at the moment and Lisa has the Blazer tied up most of the time hauling stuff around.  My last day at work (well not last day as I am thinking that I might come back, in a few months once I get a better feel for what it would be like in Oregon, they have agreed to hold my job as long as I stay in contact with them.)  My last day will be next Friday Sept 2nd.  That coming Saturday is the big move and re-arrange day.

There is a ton more stuff to discuss and talk about.   I'd like to keep an open dialog going here.  So feel free to post up your suggestions.

The other question David is to be prepeared is one thing, or are you actually going to make the move or sit and work things out over time and continue to live here...otherwise there isn't much need to go through this other than a little restructuring

I have had a few requests for info on the tool boxes, here is the pic, the picture makes them look shorter than they are, but they are both about 4 ft tall and on casters to make moving them around a "clean" garage fairly easy.

Depending on who the buyer is, I will stock the tool boxes diffrently. Heck I could even substitute some of the tools for Fiero parts like dist stuff, and or sensors and misc.

I can't offer to help with the prizes, as I'm somewhat in the midst of a transition myself. Once I get things figured out, I have no problem taking care of that aspect. The tools I can't help with though, hopefully someone steps up.

David,

give me a call on Sat night on my cell 604-834-6478 and let me know what you have and such for tools, readers, testers or anything like that you want to part with and we can work out a lot deal. i have basically a socket set at work and need to improve that...

any special tool that needs safe storage (and club member may need to borrow), i can store at work in South Surrey and loan out as needed (will only be available during work hours, unless other plans are made).

hope this helps..

thanks, Gary

Gary I think the most important thing that needs to go someplace safe is teh Snap On, Engine Analzer/Scope machine its designed to go ona  small cart comes with assorted cables and such.  You might even be able to get some personal use out of it.  It was donated to me for use at club tech sessions from Dr. Fiero, but I have not even had time to get it setup yet.

I've got all the manuals for it BTW - but they're paper (of course!), I've got to scan them and turn them into a PDF so anyone can get it, read it, and figure out in advance how to take best advantage of it.

Gary, whichever way I go, I think it should be taken to a new home, as I am going to do a major clear out of stuff.  Roughly 1/2 to 3/4 of my Canadian tools and Fiero parts will hit Craigslist over the next week.  If I stay in Canada I will need the space for stuff I'll be bringing up, and if I move to the US, I don't really want to cart it down with me.  I have several Fiero contacts in the states if I need parts.

When are you free next.  My last day at work is the 2nd of September.  Then I am going to stick around for a week to take care of paperwork and other related stuff here.  After that I am leaving for about 2 months to go down and try and straighten stuff up there.

Arnt you guys out in Abby?   If I can get in contact with Caladian. I still need to pop out to his place adn grab the control arms from him.  He has been nice enough to hold onto them for a month waiting for me to get everything else sorted out.  If I do make it out, I can bring the engine analzyer with me.

My evenings are good. if you plan to pop out this way then bring the analizer. Otherwise, I can pop out your way to look at the craigslist pile before it is too picked over.
