White Formula.
Been driving it a bit lately, and could hear a clunk coming from underneath that seemed to be steadily getting louder. Hmmmm.. better go take a look! Well, I knew I needed to adjust the rear camber (I just tossed it all together, ohhhh a year ago!) so figured WTF I'll pull the rear tire off and fix that too. Get in there and - oh! an easy one! Exhaust hanger had just snapped off. Out comes the MIG, zap zap, all done. Ok, there was my clunk (or WAS it?). On to do the camber. Loosen up the bolts, take off the sway bar (stock - 88 remember?) to make things easier to move. Set camber, go to put sway bar bracket back on, and on it goes..... ummm... wait... there's something wrong here. The bracket went on without a fight! Move bracket up/down. Huh? You can't do that! Unless.... {slip round to the other side} DOH! The OTHER sides sway bar link is no longer attached! The bolt had rusted clean through, and it snapped! (well - THAT explains the crappy handling for an 88!!) Luck would have it - I've got a spare pair of links. Start to put it in, and realize (at least I'm pretty sure!) that my rear sway bar is in upside down! Can the day get any weirder?! I'm not taking any chances. I'm going to bed and finishing it tomorrow. |

Follow up to the above....
Dave kindly took a bunch of pictures of his suspension from various angles, and it looks like either BOTH of ours are in upside down from the factory, or mine is indeed correct. So, in went the new bushing set. It's now SO nice to drive with a stable tail, and to have correct rear camber! |

Yep I took a bunch of pics and brought my Camera over to Crakers and we compared the pics to what was on his car. The rear sway bar just sits at an odd angle when the car is unloaded. Now all I need to do is replace the rear struts in my 88GT and my car will be better.
