    Posted: 17 March 2010 at 9:13am

Don't forget - this Saturday, March 20th, is the day for our annual visit to Blair and Angela’s Euphoria Chocolates in Fort Langley, to be followed by a club run along River Road. (Route to be discussed.)

Tentative plans are to also take a little guided tour through the township of Fort Langley to have a quick peek at some of the neat little shops that cater to the many visitors in this historic town.

This is a daytime event, so those of you who are leery of checking out new locations in the dark need not have any fear. We plan to meet at Euphoria at 12 noon.

Blair and Angela are great hosts, and Blair knows a thing or two about Fieros (to say the least). If you've got any burning questions about engine swaps etc, here's your opportunity to ask the master.

For anyone who hasn’t been to Euphoria Chocolates, it’s kind of a funky place (in a good sense). As we all know, women LOVE chocolate. It does something special to them, something about releasing endorphins. So guys, get lucky on Saturday and bring your "significant others".

And for you guys who are single, here’s a tip for you... There’s no better place to hit on chicks than a chocolate shop. I’m not kidding, 90% of their business is women! So get a fancy coffee while you’re there, grab a stool, and try out your pickup lines that never work for you at the bar.

This should be fun. This will our first chance to really enjoy our cars this year. And the weather forecast is for a PERFECT sunny, warm day this Saturday!

Coffee and chocolates... and Fieros... a great combination. Let’s do it!

Gnarley. Marcel, you still planning to pick-a-part after the run?

I'm bringing my daughter directly from karate class which
ends at 12noon so I'll be a little late. Where do you guys
anticipate being at 12:30PM or so?

Hugh, I suspect we'd still be "staging" at Euphoria at that point, but I can't say for sure. Blair will be running the show once we're out there.

Maybe if Blair sees this thread he'll chime in with a word or two.

Ok, still planning on attending, but now it's down to if Gretchin wants to be ruthless or not. She's been tempermental with the water pump/alternator/belt the last couple days, and I've replaced everything except the pump, hopefully that will appease her.

My serpentine belt shredded the day after our club meeting. I'm in the process of changing it tonight... in the dark with a "trouble lamp".

Yes, she still can't tell if she wants to be good to me or not. Seems to be just fine most of the time, occasionally on start-up it will still squeel until shut off, and even if it doesn't squeel on start, any rapid change in RPM (IE Neutral-Revving or engine braking) causes it to chirp for a moment, so clearly static friction is just on the border with it. Will have to look at the water pump tomorrow.

Polishing the pulleys with a red 'scotch brite' pad seems to work.  Gets rid of the rust crusties, and any glaze that's built up (both of which will make it loose traction).

Ah, that's why the first thing I got when I bought my GT was the custom Fiero Belt Tensioner made by Dodgerunner at PFF. Works like a charm. Never needs adjustment, never squeals.

Okay, back on topic...

I just got off the phone with Blair, and he was saying we'll play it by ear in regards to what we'll do when we get out there. As a group we can discuss a route for a Fiero run, touring local shops, etc.

The weather will be perfect. I'm sure the coffee and chocolate will be as well.

I may or may not be out tomorrow Patty. Gretchin's bitchiness aside, I'm also now sick as can be. I'll try to be there though if I can.

The sun is shining, the birds are singing... perfect day for a cruise!

John Carlo and Clynt (if he doesn't have to work today) will both be coming by my place in their Fieros for all of us to "convoy" out to Fort Langley together.

Tristan, hope you're feeling better this morning and can make it out.

I'm sorry, but there's no way I'm making it out. Diabetes just has no intention of backing down for now... Hope you guys have a good time, please take some pictures for me. Sorry again.

It was a great day for a cruise!

I'm sure we'll be hearing about our day from a few participants (including myself) later...
