    Posted: 02 May 2010 at 2:25pm

So I suppose I should explain. I have four of the stock Fiero brake calipers, and I was planning on doing them up nice and glossy red, followed by the Fiero (Like the way it's on the engine) followed by a few clear coats. Does anyone have anything that can help me out? Or does anyone know of a place that will "print" stickers?

Thanks!

Oh sorry, and I should clarify, the "face" of the caliper will be getting flat once I'm finished with it, so, no hole and no ribs. Will explain later.

Okie dokie, gnarley. Yeah, I was planning on doing them up the same way Corvette and Porsche both do them, even though my brakes are teensy weensy. lol

I think Dickman was selling stickers sized for putting on calipers.

So, are these stickers good for an extra 10 hp or what?

Nah Patty, but I do have some NOS stickers lying around. Expecting 50HP per sticker from those bad boys. My 14" exhaust tip should add another 20 too.

In all honesty though, I think it'll be a subtle little way to add some flair to the exterior. Something to break up all the black.

Thanks brother, that's the hope. Was going to wash them today, but decided I'll just cold-tank them tomorrow.

Our decals were done by Blitzgear. They should be able to do something. Not sure about using a sticker or vinyl. Brake calipers do get pretty hot. Hotter than an intake plenum, for sure.

Looks like Dickman no longer carries them - nor does the fiero store (if they ever had them).

Maybe they found the heat issue was causing too many failures?

Another option would be to stencil it, and use caliper paint.

Funny you were just saying, I was just thinking of doing just that. lol

I still need to find a means of flattening the face myself now. Does anyone see any huge danger of welding a thin sheet of aluminum over the "face" of the caliper?

If it was done in TINY spot welds at the corners or something, probably not.
But you really don't want to take a chance on warping them with localized heat, and having a piston bind in the bore.
