Subject: May 15th Fiero Dismantle Day, Fiberglassing Nose work with Car2Lo, several V8's and a 3800S/C Choptop Fiero on Display 8am at my place, address is below. Ok May 15th at 8am all the fun begins. @ 16908 104th Ave Surrey, BC Wayne will be driving his 86 4cyl 5spd here to my house for its final resting place. We will be dismantling the car right down to the last nut and bolt, every trim, every suspension part, engine, you name it will be removed. Air tools will be here, a Plasma cutter thanks to Dr.Fiero will be here. (HANDS OFF FOR HIS USE ONLY, is his major request) I'll have an open garage to let people use tools. However PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU KEEP YOUR TOOLS SEPARATE, I can't be losing tools by accident every time we do a tech session. Car2Lo will be here on Saturday at 9am during the stripping Party, and will be doing many final touches to the nose on my 857GT V8 Cadero Fiero. Now I think we really need to publicize this event as a HUGE deal. Even invite the Washington and the Island guys. We are Stripping a Fiero from start to finish now if you don't think that is reason enough look at this bonus features. John aka Car2Lo will be doing the final touches to the body work and Fiberglassing of my Project 857 Fiero GT V8, Now heck even if you don't want to get your hands dirty, there will be some great things to see, People can see not only a 4.9 V8 Fiero 5spd, and Chevrolet V8 5spd and hopefully a 3800S/C V6 5spd Choptop Fiero all in the same place, my gawd what else could you ask for.... Just some suggestions and comments....
There's a few of us in attendance that have stripped several of these cars (countless?), and know them really well. There's almost no reason that anything need get broken during removal. If you're not sure how something comes off, or in what order - PLEASE ASK one of us! Sometimes just taking 2 min's extra time to take something off can save headaches later. If you have a 19L pail (usual round bucket thing), bring one along! I'd like to see all the fasteners, clips, etc coming off getting saved (I've got a fairly well sorted collection - hence why people have asked for "X" bolt before and I can hand you one!), and also not ending up on Daves driveway, ready to puncture a tire (big point!). Remember your spare battery & charger if you've got power tools to speed things along. Assuming the weather dept isn't wrong as usual... Saturday is shaping up to be a great day in the high teens, low 20's. From past experiences - bring a hat, and some water! We've had many a brain boiled lobster walk away from these events.  |

There isn't much left to be honest. Other than the hood, rocker panels and door skins, all other body panels are available. Rear glass, stripped motor, trunk carpet, computer, most wiring are available. Not sure about the rack and pinion. I'm sure I've missed something. So if there is anyone needing an item just ask. hand where needed. My little gearhead Emily is already asking when we get to fix cars again lol. Well guys and gals, it was one hell of a fun day, I think
everyone has got sun stroke and exhausted from the day. I'll try to get at least a few pics posted tonight, I had a blast taking the car for a buzz around with no roof, no windshield, no doors, no hood, no fenders, no rear deck lid, no dash, no speedo, car was pretty light after all that stuff was removed. I know a few people got vids and I can't wait to see them. |
