Hello,
My friend and I bought a wax buffer and wax. His car has a metal body, and obviously enough the procedure is straight forward. I, being a little hesitant, am wondering if the procedure with wax and buffering is the same for the pontiac fiero plastic body? Do I apply more or would I apply less? Do I buffer more or less? I don't want to make my car color fade away! Thank you! |

Ya...lot's to learn, if it is not an orbital machine and your new at this, don't damage your car. Really research, go to Griot's Garage and/or Meguires and watch their video's, or ask questions...below is a reply I got which may help http://www.meguiars.com/howtocenter/ Hello Brian, Thank you for your email in which you told of acquiring a new Mazda 3 and you would like to protect it with best procedure available. Since it is a daily driver, I would recommend either our Paint Sealant or our Carnauba Stick Wax as either will give you a very good shine and will last from 7 months with the wax, up to a full year with the Sealant. As for your Fiero with the fiberglass body, and being a show car, I would recommend applying our Best of Show wax. You may want to try "stacking the wax" whereby you add successive coats after allowing each coat to dry. You can do this with several coats and when you have perhaps 3-6 coats applied, then you can buff off for the final finish. This process may help to hide imperfections in your paint, that polishing is unable to remove. Another possibility might be to use our Paint Glaze before applying wax, as this product can also help to hide imperfections that polishing could not remove. Your choice of items you mentioned in your email are just what I would have recommended, especially the extra polishing pads. If your cars are a dark color, you may want to consider ordering some #2 Machine Polish and I strongly recommend our Micro Fiber Polish and wax removal Cloths and also our Paint Cleaning Clay with Speed Shine. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to reply to this email, or call our Customer Service Department at (800) 345-5789 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. PST Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday. Thank you again for your email Brian, and have a great day! Best regards, Alan Have fun in your garage! Alan McWain From: Brian Browne [mailto:bbrowne68@shaw.ca] Hello, I have a new Mazda3 where I would like to seal and protect, but have a great shine…it’s my daily driver. I have a Fiero Show/Race car, being the fiberglass, what would you suggest to fill in the fine scratches, protect and deep shine. I am looking at Dual Orbital Machine Polish and Wax Kit http://www.griotsgarage.com/product/car+care/car+care+kits/d ual+orbital+machine+polish+wax+kit.do I would also add backup pads, and thinking sealant, then machine polish 3, then best of show wax…that possible or too much?. I live in Vancouver and just received the 15% discount and no delivery…but a nice day trip would be nice and who knows that else I would come back with…do you offer any discount for day trippers?...lol Thanks, Brian

Unfortunately, the next club meeting, I will be in Hawaii. Leaving this weekend. The August meeting, I will be at Fierofest Northwest. If you want to try it out, pop on over on Friday morning (Canada Day) or Saturday morning and pick up the bottle. |
