Nope. I plan on driving to Oregon on the Sunday. If you are really into the competitive side of autox, then attending something like this should be on your list of things to do. Don't expect a lot of runs. Three or maybe 4 max per day. Your best time on Sat will be added to your best time on Sun. Cars will be grouped into classes and after your runs are done, your car will be put in "impound" where your competitors can examine it to see if there are any illegal mods and then if they find something, they can file an official protest to get you booted out of your class. You will be running against very well prepared cars with equally prepared drivers. It's a real challenge, but like I said, this kind of event is something to try out if you are into the competitive side of autox.

I mostly just want more seat time to get comfortable with my new car, though it could be an interesting experience to see what the more competitive events are like.
I think anyone who takes one look at my front ride height will clearly see that my car isn't prepared for the class. ![]() |

Colby, I have attended this event several times, and it's VERY competitive and can be a long weekend with alot of waiting around. There are many opportunities for seat times at all the other events, this requires sticker packages, etc...I ordered from the US, but Blitzgear can do this for you... |

Maybe I should just be patient and go to the "Dancing with cones" day in September.

...and attend all the autox schools you can. I think UBC has one in late Sept (Autox 101) and VCMC has one in late spring (Velocity 1). If you want to attend (I really recommend it), then sign up EARLY. Watch those forums and sign up on day 1 to be sure you get a spot. Dancing With Cones has a little instruction and a different kind of autox. No timing except for 2 runs near the end of the day. Objective is to get identical times run to run. When I went once, we got about 18 runs in the morning and 17 in the afternoon (course was reversed in the afternoon). They use about a billion cones to line the course like a road. Don't push it too much because they won't appreciate it if you smack them all down. Cool thing about Driving Unlimited is that they have courses at the skidpad in Pitt Meadows as well as at Mission Raceway. You can take beginner courses in car control all the way up to advanced solo driving on the racetrack. All with the same group.
