So bought a new (to us) 99 golf vw.
drove for two days, then after sitting for
two days . Go to start , and low and behold
won't start. Grr... Maybe I'll just get a fiero.
lol.

yet bf's older vw starts every day. Dang new, plastic,
computer run cars.

Oh well off on a flat deck she went to visit the doctor.

That really sucks, I know the whole reason you guys bought that car is that you were tired of older cars and wanted something newer and reliable.   Hope all goes well with the car.

For us it is anything Chrysler.  Both the Voyager and the Lebaron have voltage draw issues.  The Voyager is so bad, that even after a full charge, if you let it sit for 24hrs it will be dead when you get back.  I have pulled the fuses for everything that is not essential to keep the car running and it still drops power.  Even a new Delco battery could not solve it.

Ah well such is life.

My wife just picked up a 99 golf last month and we have had no problems so far. The car drives tight and is fun to drive in a go-cart kind of way.

Hope your problems are temporary but every car has it's glitches.

Well got a long over due tune up done. Had the plugs, wires, fuel filter (was
original, and lots more done by our wonderful vw mechanic in Surrey.

Car is good. Just needs new lights put in already have the markers and fogs,
just waiting for the crystal clear headlights and suspension.
Gotta lower her. then she'll be ready to hit the road and join some of your
fiero club runs.

Blair- good to hear your having good luck. They are a car that when they are
good you'll love them. Definetly as fun as driving a go cart around the
corners. Where'd you get yours from privately or from a dealer ??

One of our customers sold it to us at the price that the dealer offered before he returned to England.($3,000)

With the 5sp the car has impressive acceleration at city speeds and does have the feel of a go-cart. When I'm in the corners I have to remember it's not a Fiero and slow down a little.
