Man...hope I can attend this, day before Motley Crue Fest, so setup day for the nitemare...not looking forward to this concert:(.

http://www.ubcscc.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=3115&highlig ht=

UBCSCC and BCMA are proud to jointly offer you SOLOSPRINT #3. Solosprints are the next level of autocross; we use the entire facility (both skidpad and runway) to achieve higher-speed longer courses that involve speeds over 100km/h. Unlike autocross, this means shifting will be required! Anybody who is looking to challenge themselves and build further car control skills for autocross, trackday, and general driving should consider attending a Solosprint event. Rollbars, harnesses, and driving suits are NOT required for Pitt Meadows Solosprint events.

UBCSCC/BCMA Solosprint #3
Date: Sunday, August 10th, 2008
Membership to ANY affiliated CACC club is accepted at this event.
Location:
BC Driving Centre
Cost: $60 on-site

There is absolutely ZERO TOLERANCE for any burnouts, reckless driving, or loud stereos on Ford Road at any time. Anyone caught breaking this rule will be immediately, and permanently, banned from all 3 local autocross clubs without warning.

Please note: Tech closes at 8:30am sharp. If you are changing tires, this must be complete before you go through the tech inspection. Registration closes at 8:40am sharp.

Important Notice Regarding Licenses:
A Solosprint novice or senior license is required to run this event and must be obtained BEFORE the event. This can be downloaded here:
http://caccautosport.org/pdf/2008SoloLicApp.pdf

Car Classing:
Classes will be according to the current
CACC Solosprint rules with the addition of 3 SPX classes (based on the same displacement as SP). SPX cars are allowed engine swaps (much akin to SM in the solo II rules). We are happy to help with classing your car, please post any questions!

Leads for this event:
Event Chair: Tyson Kaempffer
Event Steward: Campbell Carlyle
Head of Course Design: Tyson Kaempffer
Head of Registration: Jared Powell-Williams
Head of Timing & Scoring: Jared Powell-Williams
Head of Parking: Mark Uhlmann

Work Positions Available:
Head of Workers: (1 person needed)
Tech Shift 1 (7:00 - 7:45): (2 people needed)
Tech Shift 2 (7:45 - 8:30): (2 people needed)
Cleanup Crew: (4 people needed)

Please post if you are interested in volunteering for any of these jobs as opposed to a regular on-course work assignment.

If you are attending, please post as it will help us determine how many people we are expecting and design the course accordingly.

Name:
Car:
Class:
Novice: (Y/N)

Hope to have you all out!
Good luck from all of us at UBCSCC and BCMA.

Austin...looking good for me to go this event, it will end up being $115, but will also be my last event of the season to pay off all my bills from this season...lol.

Ouch that $55 Solosprint license is a bit steep for the 1 or 2 remaining events this year.  I think I'll have to pass and catch on early next year.

Austin...here is all the info:

I called the CACC office, they will be onsite on the event day, and we can submit our registrations on that day...but...

1) We still have to pay the additional $20 procession fee, so a total registration of $75.
2) If we pay on the event day CACC will mail us our license after the event, but this allows us to race August 10th still
3) This license is only good until December 31st, 2008!, so pretty expensive single event now at $135 total, is this worth the experience?
4) Need to provide proof of 3 auto cross result/events to qualify for the novice, 3 solo sprint to qualify for senior. So print a copy of past results of events you were in and bring this...otherwise the application will not be accepted!...VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION!

I am feeling the same about this event now also, the course on Monday cost me $160, never mind the costs to date with all these events...lol...but what's another $135 one would say when we have come this far...OMG!...lol, knowing me I'll be going

Yeah I really don't mind the $60/Solosprint event..

It's just the licensing & late entry fee for 1 event isn't economical for this Fiero owner :P If i got a full season though hell yeah i'd register

Ahh okay well, maybe a couple weeks after your insurance expires.. you'll get that itch and wonder why you didn't make the run when had the chance

No worries here my car is insured year 'round.. maybe I'll run some of those 'slush series' or whatever they are

Ok...I have registered for this:).  For those who have an interest to see a Solo Sprint and have more of a crazing for track, this is the event style.  This will be my first and all I have been told is that it's a small track, using the main pad at Pitt Meadows plus the runway...we will get out of 2nd gear:).

David...this is your style for sure...hope you have a chance to check it out, otherwise you know I'll post vids:).

Well, I like Solo Sprint:)...lol.  It was worth going, I got my car up to 120km, but nice open track which was a little slower in the morning with how wet it was, but cleared up nice for the afternoon.

Saying this, bigger brakes is certainly on the list for next year with the rear suspension:)...and need to figure out what's loose in the front end, a little squirly today...lol

Sorry had to split so soon I had to be in Coquitlam by 2pm.  They said gates would be closed while the races are running and it would be another 45min - 1hr before the next break.

Get those videos uploaded so we can see the action :)  Hmm wonder what the ETA is for the 2nd skidpad theyre putting in??

Yeah for sure I'm in for next years AutoX, Mission, SoloSprint, etc, etc

Just picked up one of these from Princess Auto

http://www.princessauto.com/_osn.cfm?CTRY=CAN&output=OSN &SRCH=1&SRCHAREA=OSN&T1=COMPACT%20%20DIGITAL%20% 20INFRARED%20%20THERMOMETER

Infrared Thermometer.. should come in handy to see where my tire temps are and if they are even across between runs.  Feels decent enough construction/quality-wise, made in Taiwan.
