* Note the change in location !!!
Saturday September 12th 2009 - 7pm is the official start time of the meeting. However, arrive at 6:30pm (or earlier) if you wanna come shoot some bull and kick a few tires in the parking lot.
Okay guys and gals, the September club meeting is now today. I've been in touch with Dave and he tells me no one has spoken up to chair the meeting yet. If someone else doesn't step forward, you're going to be stuck with ME chairing the meeting again. Anyone who was at the July meeting will tell you that this was an experience not to be repeated. So I'm giving you all fair warning, someone please volunteer to run the meeting or I'll be forced to again wreck the evening for everyone. Seriously though, I'm happy enough to chair the meeting, but I'm also more than happy to sit back and watch someone else make a fool of themselves. Anyway, consider it if you haven't already done so. It's actually kind of fun... in a masochistic sort of way.

I know you guys are afraid of overloading Dave's server with all your responses in this thread, but keep them coming. Just bumping this to the top to help spread the word...

I assume you're referring to the location of the meeting, and not who's chairing it.

Yes Yes, the meeting place has now been confirmed and booked, it is NOT the ABC in Surrey that we were at last month. All details will be posted in a few mins, just wrapping up the last of the Meeting Information and Address and Directions info including info about "The Chicken Ranch" |

Do I get bonus points that this meeting message will also include reference to Jessica Alba and even a link to racy pic? |

Hey and Happy Day, Have you had your Chicken Today, at “The Chicken Ranch” if you have, good for you. The one place guaranteed to give you a smile on your face. (if you think I am nuts, Google, “The Chicken Ranch” and you should get a chuckle as it has nothing to do with KFC. Ok now that I have Ya all, sitting there with a puzzled look on your face, grab your note pad, grab your PDA, cause here is the important Info. The club meeting has changed locations again. Hey at least we are all keeping Ya on your toes, or gas pedals at least. Saturday September 12th 2009 7pm is official meeting start, however 6:30pm if you want to come and hang out with the cars.
Now the address might scare a few of Ya a bit. However it’s not nearly as scary as it seems. Get your foots into it, and zot down to the 200th Street Exit, now if you are coming from Vancouver, you are going to come to the lights and it weaves Ya around to the left and onto 200th street, well get your foot down on the throttle, the right turn blinker on, as you need to make it from the far left lane across 3 or 4 lanes of traffic, as at the next light, you have to make a hard right onto 88th Ave. So Ya got it now, medium left, followed by hard right. Then just drive down 88th ave until you reach 204th, which is really an alley, not a street, but make a right and you are there. If you are coming from the Abby area, it’s really easy, take the exit, stay to the right, turn right, and if you really feel left out, giver a little extra and see if you can manage a 2 wheel drift onto 88th Ave. However if you do wipe out, it wasn’t me, I wasn’t driving, I was surely not encouraging wreckless driving.......... Honest Officer. LOL. Just be careful out there, it’s not you guys that I have to worry about out there, it’s the other idiots hitting you that I have to worry about. Just follow the directions posted above to get from 88th to where you need to be. Well as sad as it was the Whistler run came and went but due to lack of people standing up and screaming they wanted to go it was cancelled. Same came and went for the Go Karting that was supposed to have happened last Saturday. Did anyone even notice that it was last Saturday? Don’t worry I have been so distracted on pain killers, Jessica Alba could have done a striptease in front of me and I would have barely noticed. However with the Coffee and Chocolates run coming up on Oct 3rd, we should at least get one good fall event in. This is a great event to grab the wife for, just tell her she gets the best gourmet chocolates in the province, and she should be in your car before you can say, “honey we are late, let’s get going” maybe even before you can get the car fired up. From what I hear, the coffee is one of the most unique blends in this country. How much better can it get, Coffee, Chocolate, Friends and Driving in a spirited manor all in the same night, No this isn’t heaven, but it s got to be close to it. I wonder if it is even possible to get this email back on track. Speaking of on Track, I hope Brian and Austin can make this meeting and or the coffee run as I would really love to hear not just the results of the Fiero’s in Racing but details on the actual experiences they have had and input from other racers in other cars. I hear d from a little birdie Brian has been kicking some serious German and American butt out there. Curious though with the race slicks that probably bumps you up a class, and into some really dangerous competition, how’s it going? Ok back to the meeting, at this moment, no one specific is planned to chair the meeting, Patrick has said he would if no one else is willing to stand up. I’d like to give him more than a few mins notice so he can prepare some notes before standing up and trying to wing it. If you would like to be the Guy at the front for the night, please speak up as soon as possible and let someone know, so that the word can get passed on to the advising members. Its actually really run. You get to stand up, be a goof and have fun, and its expected of you. SO you don’t have to be embarrassed. The club has a whole right now is going through some changes, and there are going to be some bumpy roads to travel. Personally I’d like to see us get back to our core set of values. This basically means, car guys and gals having fun. If you want to come and have fun, GREAT. We have lost more members than we have gained by trying to make everyone happy. It just doesn’t work. So let’s get back to FUN. Alright, meeting info is above, suggested dates are below for upcoming events. September 12th Club Meeting Oct 3rd Chocolates and Coffee, then a River Road Run from Fort Langley to Abby. October 10th Club Meeting November 14th Meeting and Tech day Will start at 10am and Tech will end at 5pm, then leave for the meeting at 6pm. We Need A SPONSOR for this event. Originally it was planned for my house, but with Lisa’s due date being Nov 12th I don’t think we are going to be able to pull it off here. Anyone feel like chairing the event? Dec 12th Club meeting and Christmas Party. December 19th Food Drive and Wrap up evening for coffee. |

Patrick; if I could get you to copy and past the meeting location into your first post in this thread, that would be cool. I could have done it for you, but I hate editing other peoples posts. (unless they have said something nasty and in that case I usually delete the entire thread and if really nasty, delete there account and ban the name and IP address range.)
P.S. I have made this topic a full announcement across all boards and stuck it to the top of every board. |

Ummm... is it just my eyes, or is there something really odd with the fonts in part of Dave's long post? An example below...
[EDIT] Okay, compare the above quote with what Dave has now changed it to. It's much clearer and easier to read now!

Uhm, Pat I think the lack of reply is people are staring at it going, ya its in a different font, and no one really understands why its strange. It reads just fine from here, is it un-readable on your end? I composed it in HTML format from within MS Outlook 2k7 and did do some non standard tweaking with the fonts, then simply cut and pasted it here. Which was able to pickup and paste correctly. (at least from my viewing seat) Just trying to kick things up and away from the bleak day to day drab postings. |

No, it's not unreadable exactly, but it's not an "enhancement" that I'd want to have to read too often. Certain letters are crowded together, to the point in some words where you can't differentiate them from the letter(s) beside them. The following word is a good example. It's the word, "like". The "l" and the "i" and the "k" are all squished together. Instead of "like" it could be interpreted as "ke" with a funny looking "k".

I hope nobody else got fooled like I did with the map that appeared when the "Map & Directions" link in the top post was clicked. The map was wrong and it showed the restaurant on 204th near 56th Avenue. That's not where it is. It's north of Hwy #1 on 204th. Hmmm.... that might possibly explain though why a few "regulars" were missing tonight. |

Yep the link I think we to the other Ricky's for some odd reason, people that knew the area, knew where 88th Ave as and had no issue, but all the others that clicked on the link may have had a problem. The rest of the guys as far as I know punched up the goggle maps address on there phone and let the phone show them the way to get there, or used a tom-tom.
However if you got pics of tonight, please post them at http://www.westcoastfieros.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=150 9 |
