Does such a thing exist? Dean brought back the big block (Holy hell, alliteration) today, complaining of a clunk from the back of the truck. And he's totally right: After accelerating, immediately letting off the gas will cause a "clunk" which is easily felt. The only thing I can think of, is that there's enough room between the pinion gear and ring that the pinion gear is pushing on the one side of the ring gear when accelerating, and when let off, the pinion gear slows down and gets "smacked" by the other side of the ring gear. Any thoughts or suggestions? |

Is it 4X4? check your transfer case.put it in 4x4 an see if clunk is still there. My GM/2500 3/4 ton has had that clunk for 2 years an thats what i thought it was all so.Last weekend i was up past the snow line an had to use 4X4 an i noticed the clunk was gone!got back an got under her an started looking around at the front diff parts to find a sloppy C/V joint,still not sure thats it,good luck with it.

Aye, I had checked the u-joints, probably should've mentioned that ahead of time. Will try the transfer case idea in a bit, truck is out at the moment.
