If the control arms are legal for highway use and not listed as "Offroad use only" they would be a great deal. However if they are offroad use only, you might want to talk to Dawg about making a set for you and a couple for other members that would like the bump steer eliminator kit. Like Brian and my V8 and your car and Car-2-Lo's car. Several Street/Strip cars could benifit from the bump steer kit.

They say "off road only" to eliminate liability issues. It doesn't mean anything really.
But either way, I have been thinking about designing a longer rear A arm system to try and eliminate the need for a spacer in a wide body car. Maybe kill 2 birds with one stone? The Dawg |

The only issue is that most people can't afford aftermarket control arms. Personally I've looked at them a few times, but short of fabricating them myself, it's not something that's feasible for me, and I'm sure that's something you'll hear echoed from a few people.

With all I have done on my car, that is one mod I considerd until I had the V710 slicks on my car for autox...and that did the trick |

I emailed the fellow over in Sechelt last week and he replied with he is willing to let the rear suspension go for $350 without the side scoops.
If anyone wants to talk to him, his name is Travis and his number is (604)989-1592 |

It is a good deal. If I did not get Dave's '88 I would already have bought it. I built a similar setup I designed for the 355 build with a widening as well and it was a lot of work.
This one gets rid of your bump steer through 98% of the full shock travel and mine worked for about 80% of the shock travel. If I was past the 80% mark I figured I was already well into a roll and wasn't too worried about bump steer by that time...... ![]() Whoever buys this setup can most likely put it in within an easy week of evening wrenching as you will end up cleaning up parts when you pull them off. No cleaning and you could have a set of bump steer rear control arms in a weekend. And then of course a wheel alignment. Cheers Don |

That's all the same stuff that is in Hugh's car.
Whatever you do... make sure to put never seize on all the threads everywhere! Took me ages to break these ones free, and they're only a few thousand miles old. Smear a good moly grease all over the rod ends too so they don't rust. |

What John said!
We used to spray the rod ends with lithium grease and then wrap them with strips of closed cell foam from Airolite camping pads. Then wrap that in vulcanizing tape for a water tight seal. So basically we were making a padded rubber bag to protect the joint. Even though they are stainless steel, they will eventually corrode and then quickly grind themselves to death. Let me know when you go to put these on and I'll bring the stuff to do this. The Dawg

Thanks for the suggestions, I will need help for the install, at the same time I want to go with 400 lb springs at rear,
right now it bottoms out and hits the fender lip with 300 lb springs. I'm thinking doing this in the spring now. Old Johnny Boy |

Yeah, that seems like a funny way to have made them. Were they not supposed to be used outdoors?

You'll find many "performance" suspensions and linkages with these sort of joints in them. They are marvelous when they're new but not really designed for daily driving no. You just have to take care of them is all.

Then this kit would be crappy for daily driving ![]() That's okay RBS IS NOT A DAILY driver, everybody knows that when it's raining I don't take her out, anyway I don't want to get Blair's work dirty, you know how he feels about dirt. ![]() |

Doesn't this bump steer kit eliminate need for the rear tie rods? I may need new tie rods and I seem to recall a picture posted a while ago of RBS's rear suspension with some pretty nice looking tie rods.
