Find a V6 auto car that's wrecked - it's a fairly easy swap then.

Easiest?  4cyl out, 4cyl in.

Next easiest?  85/86 V6 AUTO.  Don't look into a 4spd swap, or your 'easy' button just got stepped on.
You take the WHOLE thing out of the V6 car, and simply swap it over.  One tiny wiring change to add the line for the other injector bank.
Steal the dash out of it, and your gauges are done.

this may seem like a stupid question, but a '84 4cyl will drop straight in? there's nothing i need to change from the '85? thanks

'84 was the wimpiest of the whole flock - but AFAIK there's no external changes to the 84 vs. 85.

If it's an auto -> auto, it'd be a simple in/out.
