My question is, do i really need the idle speed control? Doesnt it just set the
rpm higher when a cold start occurs, and adjust idle when slowing down in
an automatic? Mine is a 4 speed and when im decelerating you can feel the
ISC lag a little with the throttle and it just annoys me. Also the engine is very
healthy and will start in freezing and below temps without a problem and
idle at the set 600rpm when its cold, so why do i need the ISC? For oneits
annoying, two, it looks terrible, three, it weighs like 3 lbs.

Yes you need the ISC, it constantly adjusts the engine idle from cold fire up to warm running.  If you did not have it, you could have an engine that would not start cold and as it warmed up the idle would keep creeping higher and higher.  Also the computer uses the ISC to help figure out if you have vacuum leaks,   It knows what the idle should be and if it has to correct the throttle position to far closed, it will let you know that something is wrong by setting a code.

Thats what i thought, so the computer does use info from the ISC to run
better. Ok. Is there any way where i can make it only work for idle? not while
revs are coming down? Like maybe twist in the rod a couple turns so it...
neveremind. I just really hate it messing up smooth decalls!
