In my opinion, this company is pretty much the true meaning of "ICBC claims specialist". They have no idea of how to deal with people nor have the skills or patience to pay attention to details.

Issue 1:
They painted a fiero door. The WHOLE door.. the door jamb is supposed to be black but they decided that paying attention to the fact that the skin of the door and the jamb are different colours is not important. Paint the whole thing because I told them to "paint the whole door". I didn't realize I had to specify to pay attention to the current colour scheme.. The owner still fought with me but the paint guy admitted it was their mistake. Black part was repainted in the end to black but with a final comment in place that I told them to paint the "whole" door.

Issue 2:
They painted the door with the rocker panel trim on.. which means that I already have a crack and can see the previous door's paint colour, which is white by the way, and will only get worse as time goes on. They argued with me on this and said that taking that panel off will cause it to warp and they won't get it back on properly. This is garbage and completely untrue, another lack of attention to detail.

Issue 3:
They needed the keys to the car to get the window up and down to take the old door off. They got angry at me for taking the keys when I wandered off to get breakfast while they worked on the car. I asked them why they needed to play with the window to take the door off and they argued as to why they needed to explain it to me.. Within 10 mins they told me to come get my door, bumper and car and leave ASAP.

In the end, no door install which they promised from the beginning at a set price, no black painting on the bumper which needed to be done with the red, no wet sanding to clean up the dripping of paint and imperfections in the bumper painting, bad paint job on the door which will only get worse in time, no colour blending to match the car and no install of the door which they promised in the original quote. Along with literally booting me out the door.

I would not recommend them for the sole reason that they don't seem to care about details in their work, but also that they have literally no customer care skills. I've never had a company owner lose his cool so fast over something so small as being questioned on what they are going to do to the car and complaints about how they do their work. Dealing with ICBC is the only thing they know how to do.

So... other than those minor details, how'd you like the job they did?

Thanks for the report. It's good to know where NOT to take our cars for repair.

Just curious, Graeme... Why did you select this particular shop in the first place?

I had called them after finding a large ad in the yellow pages. They seemed willing to work with the car in the time that we had and gave the impression they knew what they were doing. Unfortunately they were talking out of their ass.. at least, that's my opinion of it all.

Hey, your "opinion" on this matter is good enough for me!
