Dawg here on the forum had suggested just such a mod to increase the strength of all clutch forks before re-install into a car. It might be a good idea for anyone doing a clutch job to take it to him for re-enforcement before re-install in a car.

I did mine after the clutch fork broke. It was in pieces, not disinegrated, so I welded the pieces back together, ground it back to a good looking part, then added the strength to complete it.
But, if you had a good one, adding the pieces would be easier. You just have to make sure they don't interfere with the tips of the clutch fork which do the contacting. I remember welding the reinforcements on, then grinding to fit. Chay |

Just to be clear here, are you guys referring to reinforcing both Muncie and Isuzu clutch forks, or just the Muncie forks?

Yes it would be good for both. But don't worry Patrick, I have only ever heard of one Isuzu with a bad fork, all the rest have been 4spd cars.

That's what I gather from Pennock's, that the problem clutch forks are on the 4-spd Muncies. Not sure about the 5-spd (Muncie) Getrags. |

Was just doing some poking around, and found a cross for this pesky fork. It's still available NEW from Lordco! No more panicking if you break one (well, other than the 12+hr job to replace it).
Anyhow, if you ask for a Pioneer #CF-106 it shows up. Yet, I can't find it on the on-line Lordco catalog.... ???? About $60 at this time. |

That's great John, for anyone who might need a clutch fork immediately. Keep in mind though that they're available on eBay for a lot less (as reported earlier in this thread).

Yup - but I tell ya - if your car is up on the hoist at Mr.Clutch or somewhere... you go ahead and tell them to leave it there for 2 weeks while you wait for your shipment to clear customs....
