Just a heads up,  while delivering parts today, i saw the google car with the big camera attachment driving around abby.  First time i saw it was going down south fraser, then later on, i saw it getting on the freeway towards langley.  If the camera was running, i should be caught on camera on the corner of Marshall and Clearbrook. :D

They were out in Coquitlam about 3-4 weeks ago.

I read something about this in the Province.  Looks cool.   If they head for Whalley or anyplace near Scott Road can we setup road blocks or spike belts?   Last things we need is Americans thinking we are a little Iraq or North Korea and get the notion to attack us.

LOL! If I remember correctly, Vancouver was immortalized for having a woman flash the google maps vehicle as it drove past, luckily for her family's name, they didn't use the section of road where she did it until they did a second pass.

I thought we had some sort of privacy laws here in Canada that were preventing Google from doing this imaging of all our roads (and everything else in the camera's view).

I guess this must've been worked out somehow.

So, has anyone spotted a Fiero in a Google street view yet?

Privacy laws don't exist for street photography, which is why you can take a picture of the majestic mountains without someone from across BC writing you a nasty letter about invading their privacy. Now, if you have a legitamite concern about your privacy, by law if you request Google not display your property, and that land is indeed your own, Google must take it down. However, you're going to be hard-pressed to cite any reason why you don't want your house on Google maps (ie agoraphobia or any other extreme fear of the outside world, or of people).
