Just buy this from Mopac and you are set. It wires in and does not require you to cut your old harness at all. Makes it all plug and play. Price was around 24 bucks when I bought the last couple.
Harness, MSD 6 to GM Dual Connector Coil
Part No. 8876

Just an interesting piece of info that at least I didn't know until recently about the MSD system, it only provides a multiple spark discharge until about 3000 RPM then it only gives off one spark because the system cannot physically spark that fast

Yep but what a spark that is... (very big spark)
The Fiero does benifit more than most by having the multiple spark at low rpm, just due to the fact that these cars run PIG RICH at WOT in the low rpm range. The computer ignors the O2 sensor and pumps as much fuel as possible, so having the extra spark helps to make sure that the spark is at least "there" when it needs to be.

Perhaps your tranny likes to shift at 7000 RPM.

Does the engine feel like it "shuts off" when it hits the rev limit, or does it just kinda stop accelerating, like the engine is missing, aka not firing on all cylinders.
If it feels like the key is shut off, that means you are hitting the stock rev limiter in the ECM. If it feels like it missing then you are hitting the MSD limiter. Drop by here when you are not busy I have a few low rpm rev limit chips you can test with.
6800 is too high for your motor, more like 6200 is the best shift point.

I'm for sure hitting the msd limiter, but my car normaly shifted super
high and I just thought nothing of it, since my tach is way off, could it
be the kick down mechanism?

Yep a miss adjusted TV cable can cause that. Didn't I remember you having a torn up TV cable going to your trans? If the TV cable is that messed up, it must shift horribly soft at part throttle and feel like a wet noodle.
I just checked I have a 6200,6400,6600, and 6800 chip here if you needed a lower one for testing. Just remind me they are in the top right drawer of the small tool chest, if you needed one. Trust me I'll forget in about 20 mins.

I just checked and all my TV cables went to the dump on my last clear out. I have a nice stack of standard transmission cables though. LOL.
Ask the Dr, he might have one kicking around, but I think he did what I did and scrapped all his Auto stuff.

I think the last one took me 5 Min's, 3 of those Min's was fighting with the damn plastic clip where it attach's to the TB. I have never heard of the trans end falling into the trans so you should be fine, however if it has fallen into the trans, I don't know if it is possible to fish it out. Might be able to pull the side pan off and attach it through there.
However that is "worst case" scenario, it should just be un-hook it, hook on the new one, attach it and your done.

There is an adjustment to be made so that it works properly. When I got my GT it was the first automatic Fiero I'd ever worked on, so I had to go to Pennock's and search for the correct procedure.
It turned out that the "ratchet" type connector on the TB end of the TV cable on my GT simply would not adjust the way it was supposed to (according to "the book").
I had to use other means (involving brute force and much swearing) to get the proper adjustment, but I did finally get it and now all is well.

I think you better go to Pennock's and do a search for TV cable adjustment.
Oh heck, just click http://www.fierosearch.com/cgi-bin/search.cgi?forum=-1&where=SUB&SearchQuery=TV%20cable%20adjustment&Action=DoSearch - This .

k, my TV cable definitely doesn't have a button to adjust
it... it seems to be that the plastic is just broken where
the cable housing meets the plastic so I'm gonna look at it
better tomorrow and see if i can come up with any better
ideas like cutting down the cable housing a hair till i can
find another cable, what would recommend as a safe rev
limit? the stock limiter is 6800 correct? john bumped mine
when he burnt me a new chip.

Check it again. I doubt the TV cable on your Fiero is different than everybody else's.
Note: Apparently there are generic TV cables out there of some sort (and I have no idea what they look like), but all OEM cables will have the adjustment button.

Okay, it's possible then that your Fiero has a non-OEM cable on it.
Although I have no idea how you'd adjust that type of TV cable, it still needs to be adjusted properly for correct operation.

Luke, you told me at the meeting tonight that you thought the adjustment button was on the tranny end of the TV cable.
Was there something about my earlier post you didn't understand? Check the bolded part!

Lol I've almost got it dialed in but feels like the torque converter can't
deside weather to lock up or not under full throttle any sujections?
Seems to not matter where the tv cable is set

Luke, as far as I know, the torque converter does not normally lock up under full throttle no matter how you might have that TV cable adjusted.

Luke, I came across a couple pages in the service manual that talk about TV cable diagnosis and adjustment. These may or may not be helpful to you...
