Interesting, only four sports fans (and/or patriotic Canadians) amongst this whole club of gear heads.

Well I watched part of the middle of the game and the last 10mins of it.  Yes I was happy that we won.  Which for me is a big deal as I don't watch any sports.  Unless you count motor sports.

I was kinda downed as I was unable to go downtown and enjoy the circus that Robson street was.  (I doubt I could have walked more than a block with my knee)

So YAA Canada, Very Cool that we won the most gold of any country at any home games in History.  Amazing that the one speed skater lost in one class then came back to kick ass in a 2nd race.

The snow boarder dude that won the very first gold, was too cool.  He look like he was at a party just having fun, and not serious about the whole thing, no pressure, which was also cool.

The girl who's mom passed away, that really sucked, but it was amazing that she went on to win a medal.

I did actually feel a bit bad for the USA hockey team, as they honestly did look crushed by losing.  However the Canada team would have been way more crushed if they lost.

So yes I am patriotic, and did watch a bit of it, but just didn't post.

I play Hockey, typically don't watch it though. Made an exemption for this mind you. Not a half bad little game.

How about the general Olympic experience...who went downtown and checked out any of the houses, walked the streets of Robson, etc...and watch any other sport and cheer on ANY CANADIAN???...it's not about Hockey, this was a once in a lifetime experience, and I am happy that we enjoyed, sad today how the buzz is gone from the city:(

I lacked the funding to attend any events, but I went downtown and soaked up the experience.

As for it being "just" about the Hockey, of course I have nothing but respect for all the Olympians, but seeing as how I don't enjoy watching sports, I picked the one event everyone would be talking about.

There was another thread a couple of weeks ago, but apparently I was the only one in the club who bothered to watch http://www.westcoastfieros.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=1729&PN=1 - the Olympic opening ceremonies .
