I have a couple of steering racks and wonder which I should use. One is from an 84 SE (my parts car) and it has a 19 to one ratio. the 85 has 22 to one steering ratio, which would be better for winding roads?

I have also heard that the latter Fiero's had a larger gas tank, is this true and if so what years and or models?

I don't know all the ins and outs when it comes to steering rack gear ratios, but I think it's more of an issue when it comes to parking rather than when cruising along a winding road.

A 22 to 1 ratio would make parking easier than a 19 to 1 ratio for women and wimps.

To be honest, a lot of people that use the cars for daily drivers prefer the easier steering high ratio rack, however for racing or spirited drivers I would use the low ratio rack.

Fuel tanks were 10.3 gallon for 84-86 and 11.9 for 87-88 Fiero's.  You can put the larger tank in, however it does require some massaging, no cutting but a bit of beating on the tunnel, and I think removal of rubber sound deadener on the belly bracket.
