Hi all,

Thsi was sent by a friend and says I can flush out the current Dot 3 and run this Motul racing fluid that pretty much is a Dot 4...straight flush:)...anyone have any thoughts?, I plan to call Frank at Driver's Edge on Monday and ask him.

Motul RBF600 is probably compatible with your existing fluid.  It doesn't like silicone and mineral-based fluid.  Compatible with glycol-based fluids (most DOT 3)

Ah hell, why not just head on down to Lordco and pick up some DOT4 or DOT5.1?

Because we don't want to have to replace calipers/rebuild, replace lines, possibly master cylinder, from what I understand Dot 5 conversions require pretty much everything to be taken apart and either rebuilt or cleaned the hell out of.

I spoke to a couple people and they say Dot 4 for the most part is compatible with Dot3.

I personally don't know enough about it to fully comment on it, as frankly I have never seen a need for anything beyond Dot3 even with my driving habits.

DOT4 and DOT5.1 are both Glycol, you can cocktail them with DOT3 all you want, which is why I didn't suggest DOT5 (Plus seals tend to really dislike DOT5).

I just want a step up to DOT4, I have not hammered the brakes on the track as much as I want/need to...need to "Squeeze" more...lol, and trying the Raybestos Professional pads, I may check out those track pad's I posted about next year.

I was just in Lordco (On Edmonds). Although they have some, I would strongly suggest waiting until at least tomorrow to buy them, as the Edmonds Show 'n' Shine is currently blocking off the whole street.

Lordco had RBF 600 or was it their DOT 4?, I will call and get a price, and if Metrotown has it, open late

I know they had DOT4, I don't know about the RBF 600.
