Well I picked up my GT back in September but wasn't in a possion to do any work with it other than some tinkering.

I rebuilt the rocker panels on a buddies 1999 Grand Vitara and in exchange he gave me the Fiero

It needs a new tranny but things that have been done to it this past year and a half were clutch system from pedals to tranny, tranny was fixed once then replaced (now broke again), new tires in June, new TB Sensor, brakes (rotors and pads), new vaccume lines, newer muffler and will have new exaust tips.

There is some other stuff that I can't think of at the moment

It has 149,000 kms and runs great.

I have a subtle side scoop mod I want to make but for the most part it will remain stock until my Trans Am gets rebuilt

I have always wanted a Fiero and Trans Am so now I have both

I thought of the name for the car yesterday

I went with that because I tell people how I look forward to "bombing" around in the car this summer and it seemed fitting for me

heres a few pics:

So yesterday I removed the passanger headlight assembly, grabbed my dickman repair kit, and carefully took it all apart

I only took a few picks because there are pics all over the web on these things but this is what I discovered

apon first glance the gear looks in mint shape

but on closer inspection the gear is toast because of a flat spot

I cleaned everything up, greased the gears, and put it all back together, but I think I need to address the limit swithches...I don't think they are moving properly.

With it back in the car, and the car not running, It developed a twitch when turned off. I could hear the limmit swithches cutting in and out.

With the car running, this problem doesn't exist...it's as if the extra juice from the car running makes it work properly!

Well since i had done this work, I fixed the driver side headlight, and completed the tranny swap.

anf for the first time since last fall I able to move The Bomber under it's own steam!!

I have a few bugs left to work out but at least it moves on it's own now

Yuppeeee

Surprisingly it has a bit of a throaty sound.

I can try to post a sound clip of it if you like!!

I'd like that. I collect engine/exhaust notes for my iPod. Don't have a Fiero yet though, would be nice to add to the collection!

Well, it's time to get one.   Maybe we should do a recording session one of these days after a club meeting.

That would be fun.  Or even during a run.  Flat out sound flying by the mic would be great.  Or off the line going through the gears hard.

Ya baby!

That would be awesome! Especially with all the different voices and notes we could record (2.8's, Dukes, 3.8SC, 4.9, Small Blocks).

Sigh... Oh, to dream. It would be a symphony.

Well I changed the oil preassure sensor switch, changed the battery, and took it out again for a spin.

I also went down and picked up a trip permit for it and I have burned almost half a tank of gas in it!!

Is it ever fun to drive!!

I think I have all (knock on wood) gremlins worked out of it but won't know for sure until I get some kms put on it!!

Sick bomber bro.
Yeah you gotta make that trip over sometime. My
grandparents commute from Williams Lake BC to Nova Scotia
every year. And their retired!
You can do it.
BTW. You should really get that intake elongated and down
into the rocker where it can get some nice cold fresh air.
Intake and valve cover repaint in the future?
Love the tailpipes. That bladder looking thing where your
washer fluid is. Is that the washer fluid bag(?) I've never
seen something like that before. Then again. I've been out
and about sucking wind for only 18 years ^_^

that bag looking thing I think your looking at is the inner wheel house

On the list of things to do is the relocation of the intake.

This years plan is to kick the crap out of the gremlins running through the car...maybe I'll make things look nicer next year...I actually kind of like it looking like it was well used...kinda matches the Bomber name...I don't want it too look too prissy...lol

As far as the tail pipes go...I hate them...I'l will give them too you when I get rid of them if you want them...i want caddy dual oval tailpipes on there in the future!!

lol...not me...I'm attracted to vehicles that are fadded, rusty, crappy looking on the outside, then I don't worry about the kids scatching it, or someone stealling it...in fact they tend to avoid them...lol

Well, I forgot to mention that I finnally got the Bomber on the road, and have been having a blast driving it around. It gets lot's of looks, surprsingly.

I also attended my first cruise in on Sunday with my boy, and again, I was shocked at all the attention it was getting. One guy even took picures. The bomber looks great at ten feet while doing 50 kms/hr...lol...that's why I'm surprised.

This weekend I'm going down to a meet and greet, down in Innisfill which is about a 4 hr drive for me

There will be about 18 other fiero owners attending who are all part of Greater Toronto Fieros. I'm stupidly excited for it...My son and I are going hammer down there in the morning and come home in the evening!!

Anyways, thought I would update the thread

Have fun at the meet, hopefully they're every bit as fun as the ones out here are.

Our last meet was a bit too much of a success.

Patty, we probably shouldn't comment given that they, you know, actually have a cup, unlike a certain Vancouver team I know...

Yeah, and I was 11 years old when they last won it... back in 1967.

They couldn't even make the playoffs this year...

or last year...

or the year before that...

or the year before that...

or the year before that...

or the year before that.

Talk about "tradition"... the Maple Leafs have missed the playoffs six years in a row!

Perhaps, but I still refuse to denounce a team with a better track record than my own.

Oh well, least the Canucks made me a small fortune with their loss.
