I'm really looking forward to coming out again, but I'm just not interested in sliding around a wet or icy track.
However, I'm becoming very concerned that you guys are racking up hours of experience that'll make it awfully difficult for me to whomp you out there.

It's really not that bad. They usually build the track around the puddles and even on the day when the surface was icy, there wasn't too much sliding going on and it was mostly dry by the end out the day. I've only ever had problems with sliding around while driving on my old summer tires, those things did not like water. I think the worst part has been the cold.

Speaking about Austin, what's it going to take to get him to come out this year?

I guess it's better to discover this on the track, and not in an emergency situation on the street.

He needs a clutch...we spoke about him trying mine...I will have to get it tweaked with David a little for the chatter...daily driver in the city, not a good idea

Very fun day, quite possibly the wetest yet though.
Sorry patty colbys little duke didn't outrun the mighty supercharger this
time:P my father and I are slowly climbing up the grid and are within
100ths of eachothers times.
No videos from me thIs time, we forgot our camera:(
Hopefully some photographers braved the wind and rain to vet some
decent photos though.

Booooooo!
So Harrison, how could you get any traction at all on a day like this?
|

Who says i got traction? I put my non snow tires on for this one (nankangs) and that had a lot more grip. Still, the front end had very little traction and I would get a lot of understeer until it hooked up.
Although Colby is still ahead on the indexed times...

Bah, traction is overrated! Seriously though, with my new tires in the rain today I felt like I had a similar amount of traction as with my old summer tires in the dry, aside from hydroplaning on occasion.
I was only 9/10's of a second off of Harrison's time, and this was one of the courses where power would have been very nice. It's cool to see that the times between him and his dad are so close to each other. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0df0YpKXa44 - fastest run video.

Glad to see that you guys are fighting the good fight in all kinds of weather, holding the fort until wimps like me come out and do battle on dry pavement in the sunshine.

And technically I beat my dad this time, the judges just didn't see him plow through the back of the stop box on that fastest run of his...

let me chime in and say how wet and cold the day was. i had some challenges in harnessing the 914's power plant and it shows in my times. overall a fun day. i may however refrain from taking a "sunny day car" out on a day like that again. Colby may have to move over and let me co-drive the Duke...
