I don't see the connection between that and wanting to pay the morning of the autocross.  It's going to cost you X number of dollars no matter what.

Actually, I like this change in their registration rules.  I believe this was done to prevent a repeat of last year where about 30 people turned up for an autocross at the last moment, and there were WAY too many people on the track that day (which of course resulted in very few runs for everyone).

No, I'm not taking credit for the change in their registration rules.  I heard from good authority that many other people had complained behind the scenes about this same thing to the powers that be.

Rich, I have a question as a newb. I came out to the August autocross as an observer as I was dog-sitting my girlfriend's husky for a month (which I brought to the track that day) and therefore couldn't actually participate. There were about 40 cars and everyone got in eight runs apiece. This time around I came to the track (minus the dog!) and was able to participate. There were four of us from the Fiero club running our cars and we all enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. However, the only disappointment from a participant's point of view was that we only got to run a total of five times apiece because there were so many more entrants at this particular event. What was there, at least 70 cars? I know you're caught in somewhat of an awkward position, but at what point would you consider turning away people who decide at the last moment to come out? Again, from a participant's perspective, it's not nearly as much fun when the number of runs are severely limited due to the large number of entrants. It also makes for a lot more waiting around between runs. Please don't interpret this as a complaint. I'm just genuinely interested how you (as the organizer of the event) plan to keep everyone happy as the popularity of this event continues to grow. Thanks.

I thought that "10:15" would've meant PM, but apparently it meant AM. It's my own fault for waiting 'til the last day, but you'd think they could've made the cut-off time a bit more clear, especially as this is the first time that entrants HAVE to register online.

I might try that, although I was trying to post on their forum (which I've done before) and I'm having trouble signing in. Grrrrr...

Mah oh man, they sent me an email in March confirming subscription to their newsletter. You'd think at some point they could've mentioned that non-club members have been unceremoniously turfed from their forum.
