I think I'm just going to make a new line for it. I don't
think it HAS to be a flex line. The more I looked at it the more I think I can just make a new line from the wheel well up into the engine bay along the wheel well and then shoot across to the clutch slave. That would be a big mistake. The engine/tranny moves in relation to the frame. A rigid clutch line from the frame to the tranny will eventually crack from movement/vibration.

Also when I think about it the hard line should be fine.
Let me break it down like this.. The tranny and motor mount together and then mount to the cradle. Everything is tight and doesn't move. Next is the cradle to the frame. Again nothing moves once it's bolted up. So how can the tranny and engine move in relation to the frame? It makes no sense. The suspension moves and the control arms move hell even the drive axles move but the cradle, tranny and engine remain the same. It`s designed that way. If it wasn`t it would be a poor design and you would have things breaking left right and center. IDK maybe I`m just not seeing it right.. |

I`ll be smart about the (possibly) dumb choice I`m about to make and go about it as safely as possible. If it holds for years to come I call dibs on telling you so. No but in all likelihood I`ll have it swapped this summer for the real part. |

I'll tell ya right now.... biggest problem you're about to find out, is the line size. It's not 1/4", or 3/16", or something 'human'. It's freakin' 6mm! I did up a bunch of repair kits over the years - it's a horrible size to try and match up in a compression fitting. |

Cody, the factory didn't put that flex line on there for gits and shiggles. You may get away with using a rigid line for awhile, but you know when (yes, when) it lets go (if used for enough hours), it's going to let go at the worst possible time.

If you've replaced the rubber engine mounts with solid mounts, then
MAYBE things won't move in relation to eachother. That would be a very uncomfortable ride though with every engine vibration being transferred through the entire car.
