Hi All
After a vary long time i got to take my Fiero out for the first test run today, since i got it a year an a 1/2 a go,a fresh 2,8 build an wow what a feeling! it brings me back to 84 when i had a Duke. The Engine ran great but had some trouble, one rear caliper just about on fire, when i pull in to the gas station of all places!, opps! lots of smoke but no fire.this car hasn't bin driven in 5 or 6 years,i did check the brakes,to see if they were ok an working when i drove it up an down my drive way.ive checked to see what has bin posted here about stock Fiero rear caliper an its a nightmare.going to give it a shot, any help would be grate.allso my transmission,Auto.it did a funny thing,it wouldn't unlock an down shift, only did it once an seems ok know.
Last thing is when iam driving along an it in 3hrd gear lock, with no gas peddle, foot off the peddle the car cruzs @ 40 k unless i brake an it drops a gear, would that be a vac leak or tranny or a combo of both.any help would be great,an it was a fantastic Fiero day for me,thanks all

Just checked, this is the Fiero rear caliper,it has a bolt LH/FT in the center to push the piston with the hand brake, thats it!  Have any of you ever worked on a Vespa scooter,i have an its the same caliper only its small, know i know where GM got the idea from, the ITALY.

Oh god, I hate the calipers on the Fiero. lol

Glad to see that you have some prior experience with them, though.
