Hi, So i recently acquired a 1986 Fiero gt 2.8l 4spd manual. It was very close to stock when i bought it a couple months ago, had to do a few things reinstall stock radio, repaint intake red (had been polished)

The other day i took my pictures and sent in my application for collector plates so 3-6 weeks and i'll finally be on the road weather permitting lol

I have been having a slight issue, nothing major just want my car to run its best and give me years of joy. After reinstalling my intake plenum i had a high idle which was caused by a cracked egr tube so i did the aluminum can blockoff trick and that fixed it, but i think i'm still having idling issues, let me know if this is normal.

Car starts cold idles at about 1700rpm and as it warms up slowy every minute idle drops 100rpm after about 6 mins it is idling at 1000rpm but moves up and down by about 100rpms running good slight vibration as it is bouncing. Still drives great, no stalling or anything not sure about power loss as i haven't owned it to long nothing to compare it to.

Seems like a long time to warm up i've read it'll idle high for a minute or two and drop to 900rpm suddenly instead of slowly dropping. Maybe a winaldl scan would help instead of me blindly replacing sensors like i read about others doing online. I hear Capt fiero has one, hopefully when i get my collector plates i could come for a tech session and see some nice fiero's. Here's a pic of mine.

Well, it is Winter time after all. But it could be a bad thermostat. Stuck open or missing?

Your thermostat is on the motor under the "radiator cap".  Some people remove it when they start having cooling problems.  This prevents your engine from heating up till it heats ALL the coolant in the system.  Fieros have A LOT of coolant because the radiator is way up front.

I would check there first.
