I'm wiring in an air horn and looking for a 20A 12v supply some where in
the front of the car. The Ogre's Fiero Cave suggest that I get power from the
main power feed for the radiator fan.

Even though my fan works, the (red/black) wire is not live.
Does any body have any suggestions.

I would use a relay for that.but there are other ways to do it, 20A is a good draw,an if your Fan kicks in @ the same time it could be a bad thing. My self i would put the compreser in the back an run the air line to up front.1/4 polly line is cheap,an with the compreser closer to the battery its a snap to wire up.Hook up a relay-jump the HOT to the mag an run #1 small wire up to the dash-what will be the Ground on the relay,so its ground to the relay mag. and can hook right up to a horn button up front. good luck

Hi Snowman
Unfortunately I've already mounted the compressor in the front and I
would rather feed wire than 1/4 poly from the engine compartment to
the front. I will definitely use a relay. Thank for your advice.

just looking at my Fiero Service manual, the existing horn circuit is a 20A circuit already and is hot at all times.
There should be a separate fuse for the horn circuit and you should be able to follow the circuit from there.

Just remember, the horn is not the only thing on the BAT fuse. The courtesy lights, cig lighter and at least on mine, the radio are also on the BAT fuse.

Thanks for all your help guys!
I found the "hot at all times" lead to the fan relay and used it. It was solid
red, not black/red. I then wired a 10 A inline fuse as per the instructions
from FIAMM and the Ogre, completed the install and now my Fiero sounds
like an Italian sports car.
