Advance your ignition timing, if you have worn ignition parts, it can make your ignition act like it is retarded and cause an automatic Fiero to stall.

If the timing helps, then go out and buy a new MSD Cap and Rotor and New Wires and New Plugs, then return your timing to 12 degree's.

Other issue can be the IAC but you said it does not have the problem all the time, so I would tend to lean towards the car needing a tune up with "GOOD" parts.

The link ZeroC posted is a good one, pics
a bit crappy but.Dont make the same mistake
i made,an had to pull it apart again ? there are
TWO components in line.  First the lockup solenoid
then a pressure switch. change them both.a little
tricky getting the pan off-Tight fit- it comes out the
top an there 2 brackits to come off , its about 4Hrs
with your 3/8 craftmans ratchet set,12mm is the
size of the pan bolts i think.Good luck

Hey there everyone so i figure either the some sensors are working and
then not working or its my transmission that is brokencause sometimes
when i shift into gear it makes the car move and i get a kick out of it other
times i do not and today when going 30 the engine almost cut out and
stalled so not really sure about my transmission on this thing!
