What's quit on it?

Are you local?

Might be able to repair it.

Sorry for the delay been busy - the unit powers up - clock does not work just get static on both am/fm and the cassette keeps kicking out.....and the display is not functioning...as I have the collector plate on the car I'm reluctant to install an aftermarket unit.

PM me your number, and a good time to call.

If you can drop it off to me, I should hopefully be able to bring it back to life, as long as you're not in a rush.

Hey Dr, how about offering a service to add a headphone jack to the stock unit so people can plug in an MP3 Player or cell phone.  I think you tap into the amp of the stereo but don't have a clue how its done.  With more and more people needing to run stock stereo's for collector plates it would be a nice quick side busniess for you.

Yup - that's do able.

If the tape function isn't needed anymore (!) it could probably be stealthed under the tape door too.

Hijack a thread time ....can you fix my tapedeck?

The belts are gone. Electronics work fine on my car. If the tapedeck can be fixed, I can just buy one of those cassette adapters that I can plug my iPod into.

Good chance. Can you pull it and drop it off some time?

Sure...

Since I appear to have hijacked this thread, I will go and start my own.

BTW...the model number of the stock cassette is

Delco 16050352.

Some of the electronics, have Matshusita labelled on them inside, and the tape deck frame has Blaupunkt stamped on it.
