I just realized that registration closes on Thursday. I should probably do that.

I've asked Rich in http://www.pca-cwr.org/forums/official-pca-events-and-issues/2013-autox-and-de-dates/ - This thread whether that's 12 noon or 12 midnight.

I'm holding off registering until I know whether I'm driving the duke or co-driving the 3800sc.

Have fun, I won't be able to make this one, but hopefully I will next weekend.

Turns out it'll be the ol' duke on the track this weekend.

Too bad Tristan is "busy" on Saturday. ...

Just came in from changing the oil, greasing the chassis, advancing the ignition, and putting the track tires/wheels on.

Colby, get lots of sleep tonight.

Well, looks like we won't be getting fried in the hot sun today, and that's a good thing. Just as long as the rain holds off...

It was a perfect day for autocross!

High overcast, so the track was dry, and nobody got sunburned.

And...

...unexpected bonus... it was a fast double-pad course!

And...

... there were only 33 drivers. Lots of seat time!

Colby will be along shortly with video and a picture of our time sheet. Gary should have video as well.

Great day!

Great day!

Nobody sunburned, but my skin is strangely all red.

Aside from that, it was one of the better autocrosses I've been to. Lots of time driving (a surprising amount!), a good course, and good competition.

Here's my picture of the times. I scaled this down as much as I could, but some people (Patrick) might have to scroll still.

Here's a video of one of my faster runs:

Guess what, Colby... I now have a 23" 1920x1080 monitor.

And just to prove it, I'll post these images I found http://mgreviews.com/2013/05/11/photos-autocross-pca-cwr-2013-event-1/ - Here full size.  (and yeah, I "doctored" the two images of the duke a bit.)

Colby...

Gary...

And some other cars from the event that I found to be interesting and/or unusual...

Over at the PCA forum, Genevieve Chong posted this revamped time slip image with best times (raw) and final placing.

Man oh man, look how close Gary, Colby and myself were!

Gary, it occurs to me that you might be suffering from an acute conflict of interest while helping me swap the 2.8 etc from the GT into the '88 chassis!

I better double-check my brake lines afterwards.

I found a video that Nicholas Chu (#22 above) had uploaded to YouTube that I really liked. Great camera angle. Good audio as well, with limited wind noise.

However, there was an annoying bright green bar across the bottom of the video, and more importantly, I felt the video was far too dark in places. I suspect the camera's auto-exposure was being fooled by the bright sky. Anyway, I downloaded it, fixed it, and uploaded it again.

The revamped video can be seen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NXFrSRGJhJ8 - Here .

Interesting that even though this car and driver got very fast times, you'll notice that there appears to be a lot of room between the car and the inside cones on the sweeps. I guess everyone is able to improve their driving skills.

that is a good video angle

Patrick, I will be sure to hide the vacuum leaks where you will never find them.. heh heh
