OK for some of you that don't know, a few of us extreme car guys have been in the works of getting us a local builder for trailer hitches  a Mr.  Pat Patterson stepped up and said he could do it so I removed the hitch from my car and he examined it a few times.

I just spoke to Pat today, I removed my Trailer Hitch about a 1 month ago and handed it back to him.

He has designed the hitch to mount on the car perfectly.    The price will be around $140 with local pickup.  So you save a few bucks below the Fiero Store price and don't have to pay shipping or duties or other related fees.  (shipping on a hitch is fairly high.  There will be Zero cutting to install on ANY Fiero.  The only thing you have to is add 2 holes in your frame rails.

He will start production of the units in November.  Please post up your details and name on here so that we can have a list of Pre-Orders.

You deal with him on how much he would like as a deposit on a hitch being build custom for you car.  This is designed to fit under Any body panel without alteration.    I tow with my 88GT and my 85GT all the time now and have no problems.

These are being hand built and will built much better than the ones that are build on an assembly line and toss out the door.  So your quality will be much better.

We can get trailers at below local wholesale prices as well.  So you are in the market for a trailer please let me know and I will explain how it works.

It is urgent to know as soon as possible so he can order in larger supply bunch's to keep costs down.

So please put your name down for an initial list of how many he needs to kick out.

The hitch itself weighs 25lbs, the hitch attaches with 4 bolts directly into the frame.

David, I will call you later to discuss as you know what my requirements are.

Question, to bolt this on, it does not get in the way of exhaust or rear sway bar?...

Just do a search on here for Trailer and there are a couple threads I posted.  Pat Patterson will have a "Fiero Bodied" trailer for sale either close to the end of this year or early next year.  I would expect price to be on the high side due to the amount of labor involved in it.  If you are looking for a cheap trailer you can beat the prices south of the boarder at Harbor Freight.  $180 bucks complete with a 1350lb load rating.  (thats nearly 3/4 of a Ton)   The catch is, to buy it is a KIT don't put it together until you get back to Canada. Or else you will be charged a $200 vehicle import fee and have to go through a CDN Import inspection.  If you bring it up as a kit.  You just put it together up here and register it as a U-Built trailer.

No it does not get in the way of any suspension or exhaust.  It bolts  to the frame and does not even touch the cradle.

Please refer t this thread for lots of pics and info,

As you can see in this pic, it never even gets near the cradle.  This was designed specifically for the Fiero. It routes between the exhaust and the trunk wall.

Here are a couple pics from the other thread.

Update from Pat with some sad news.

An update....

Awhile back Dave and I spoke about making some hitches for the Fiero's he pulled his I made templates and have cut steel for 1 1/2. About that point my local job ended and I shipped off to Nunavut for 6 weeks. Working 100kms south of the Arctic circle was cool but not conductive to getting projects done. I'm now home but.. and this is where the problem comes. I'm no longer with my wife and the resulting change of housing has me in a basement suit. I still have the steel for the hitches and the templates but I have no work space or welder (mine is buried at the back of my storage locker).

So the hitch project is on hold till I can get access to something. If anyone has work space they want to offer I need a solid bench and vice for a few hours and then 30 to 40 min with a welder. I can probably get the welding done but I can't do the prep work at that shop.

Also I have a partially completed trailer made from the back half of an 85 notchback. I have no place to keep it. Is anyone interested? $50 or $100 (I have to make sure I don't have to pay anything for where it's been sitting). It comes with my e-mail and advice on how to finish if needed or wanted. I don't see myself with a Fiero in the next 5-10 years but I'd very much like to see that project completed and would be willing to help the new owner.
