Ok, one last inquiry, does anyone know what the maximum lip on a rim can be, without pushing the rim past the bodywork?

Sorry, should be more specific, maximum lip on an '86 GT, front and rear?

So, is that a 3" on the back? And what I was wondering is if I could run a 1.75" lip on the car without going past the top of the fender.
