Oct 11th -- Saturday –10am to 5:30 pm Tech Session then Club Meeting 7pm – 9pm Tech Session and Club Meeting Removal of Rear Sway Bars, Front and Rear Suspension, Headlight Rebuilds. Club Meeting Location Info

We will be hosting a Tech Session Oct 11th at my place. 16908 104th Ave Surrey B.C. The Tech session will start at 10am and run until 5:30pm, at 5:30 we will wrap it up and leave for the club meeting at 6pm.   Topics to be discussed and addressed. Headlight rebuilds, and Suspension Components. Installation of rear wheel bearings. We are going to go over the front suspension parts, as well as dismantle and rebuild at least one 87-88 headlight motor.   If someone else would like to discuss a topic, or do a demo, please speak up.   I am no expert on the 84-86 headlights so I really can’t offer any advice aside from replace it.

Oct 18th -- Saturday – 3pmLangley to Harrison Hot Springs and Back. Meet at Starbucks Coffee Co - 604-455-0515 8660 200 Street , Langley , BC V2Y 0B3
We are going to be doing a joint drive with the BC Probe Owners Club / Mazda MX6 Club on Saturday Oct 18th. The run will start at the Starbucks on 200th street. 1 block South of Trans Canada. It will be an evening run. We will meet at 3pm and head for the Fort Langley Ferry. We are going to cross on the Ferry as a group onto the Lougheed Hwy, take the old Lougheed all the way up to Harrison Hot Springs, hang out, have a bite to eat, and then plan to take Trans Canada back to Langley. I would estimate the return time to be around Midnight. Please make sure to bring your FRS Radio’s, Radar Detectors and Emergency Tools, Kits.    This run may prove to be a bit on the spirited side. Our drives are generally spirited, but I don’t want to see anyone trying to “SHOW OFF” against the other car club.   I plan to have the group on the road by 3:30 so please be there early enough that if you need gas, or want to get coffee or Wendy’s or Tim Horton’s (which are all across the parking lot) you have time to get there and get what you need.   We will run Radio channel 20 Sub 00.

I'll be there for the tech session for sure, and hopfully the run as well (though that will depend on how confident I am in my car)

Thanks,

Ryan

Amazing how my name appeared on the list before I even posted in this thread.  Yep, I'll be there!

However, I better pass on the Harrison Hot Springs Cruise. I haven't worked all the bugs out of this GT yet to trust it on a "spirited" evening run to someplace I'm not all that familiar with. I don't want to take the chance of being stuck in the dark somewhere between hither and yonder.

If the weather is good, I may ask for assistance to tighten my front right wheel bearing as I still can't do this myself...would be nice to insure the car for the day and get this done before I store her for the winter.

Hi Everyone,

I got my car back today and it runs great.  I plan on coming out to the tech session and the drive assuming there are no car problems.  Is the tech session a go rain or shine?

Updating List now.   Reminder the club meeting is just after the Tech Session.

Hugh, the Tech is RAIN or Shine, however all the weather reports are calling for SUNNY days Friday Saturday and Sunday. A bit cold, but clear and dry.

Be at the Tech session - wheel bearings in-hand.

So...if anyones wants to see how its done.

Dave also put me down for the Harrison run, as I will have new wheel bearings. Also possible new rear brakes.

Cheers,

Nigel

Never having been to an all day club tech session before, I was wondering if we break at some point for lunch, or do we simply bring something to snack on during the course of the day?

I don't know if I can have my breakfast at 8am or so, work on a car all day, and not eat anything until after 7pm.

And in case we run out of stuff to do, I'll bring along replacement hinge pins and bushings for my driver's door.

People usually bring drinks and munchies, and as an option, there is a McDonald's and a Wendy's about a 5 min drive from the house. There is also a store down the street with a Hot Case and a Quiznoes about 9 blocks away. Same complex as the Quiznoes is a Tim Horton's, and across the street from that is a Subway.

But back to tomorrows plans.

There will be 3 spots on the Concrete and 2 spots on the grass as well as 2 spots beside the driveway to work. We are going to have Lisa's car up in the air to replace a front upper ball joint, maybe 2 depending on time. I will have my car jacked up to replace the rear sway bar bushings. Nigel's car will have to be in one spot in the driveway to replace both rear wheel bearings, as well as remove the rear sway bar. Patrick we will have to get your car in one of the spots to get it up in the air as well.

Everyone please bring tools. Please keep track of them. I will have specialty tools available, but I can't have people randomly digging through my tool box to get stuff.   If you have a good hyd floor jack and jack stands, please bring those.    I am not going to be able to help everyone all the time as I have already got myself stretched pretty thin, but I will be there to answer major questions.

I hope to have at least 3 cars being worked on at a time.   I'll have both my air impact gun and my electric impact gun in use.

For those that need to keep things cold, I do have a fridge in the garage. (Its a small bar fridge so don't show up with a 24 pack case of beer and expect to keep them all cold. But a 1 liter of pop or a few cans of pop are alright.

Again touching on food, well probably stop and send someone for McDonald's around 1 or 2.
