This is going to be a sticky topic. I am going to put in important notes parts info that I have collected over the years.    I would also like to get a parts database set up and running.  So if you have recently bought a part for your car.  Please post in this topic.

Part Number, Location you bought it, price you paid for it.  If you have an invoice number to use as a reference, and don't mind posting it, please also add that.  Well here is the first stuff

Pricing would be meaningless as it would be out of date by many many years now - and I was probably spending $40K/yr to get it anyhow.  :)

In the "Body" Catagory, where it says trunk lock and keys, does that mean one would then have THREE sets of keys (Doors, Ignition and Trunk)? My trunk will barely open unless done so with the eletric switch on the inside (Which is a pain if the battery needs a jumpstart. Need electricity to get to the battery, and need the battery to get electricity. See the paradox?) but I don't want to tote around three keys for my car, that's a touch excessive...
Never shift into reverse without a back-up plan.

Romeo I have heard of remote battery terminals where you can leave your battery in it's stock location and place the remote terminals in a more convenient location like under the front hood.
as the average human male life span is around 72 and I am now 36 can I officially consider my fiero as my midlife crisis car?

Na easiest way around it is, buy a cheap cig lighter adapter with a pigtail on it, feed 12v through the cig lighter it will power the trunk popper switch.

The photo below shows the MR2 Piston, boot and spring. To complete this upgrade, you use just the MR2 piston, with the Fiero Isuzu spring.

Here's what it looks like...

I made a stock slave cylinder bracket for JohnJohn once... I'm thinking it wouldn't be hard at all to make one to fit this.
Just gotta figure out the thread size for the hydraulics and make an adaptor as required.

It's CHEAP too!  About $45 from NAPA.

(oh, and the reason I say to use the above whole thing vs. just the piston, is then MAYBE we'll get around the CRAP quality castings we've had to contend with...  rust, etc...)

I don't think the piston travles far enoug in the MR2 bore to work for Maybe in the Getrag but not in the Isuzu.

Great idea though.  THe 84 Slave does mount similar to that MR2 one, maybe look at the 84 Slave and see what you can come up with.

Went and actually fondled the above slave the other day (that sounds just... like..  SO wrong, on so many levels!).

Total travel from me ramming the piston in as deep as it'll go with my thumb, out to the point where the piston was going to pop out (there's NO snap ring retainer!) was about 1-1/8".  So, probably not enough to keep an Isuzu happy.

Too bad.  Looked like good quality metal in comparison to the sh*t castings that we've been getting.

I might still do one up for my Getrag though, as it looks like my slave here is rusted in place (BIG surprise eh?!) and will need replacing.

Loose your bushing for the oil pressure sender?

The one for the A/C car is not the same size it would seem.

But I found a Weatherhead 7912, drilled out down the middle will work. There's a tiny tit sticking up that makes it not a great fit, hence drilling it out.  Doesn't take much.  You could even just use a countersink to get rid of it.

Makes sure to use good yellow 'gas tape' (vs white teflon) on both sets of male threads.
