We don't have enough time sheets , so now I've posted one that Rich did with the drivers/cars listed according to their best time. Edited by Patrick |

Damn, if only I had that acceleration! Harrison, your kid doesn't need a college fund... get some good track tires! And yes, excellent audio quality in your video. Give Gary and Colby some pointers.

Thanks.
Amazingly, that's nothing more than my iPhone 3GS. Although I am amazed the mini map actually turned out accurate (the only accurate one of the day), they're usually pretty awful with the 1 Hz internal gps. Closed roofs may not be great for head room, but sure cut down on wind noise |

I agree, Harrison's video came out pretty good.
Next time I'm going to try recording audio with my phone instead of data. At the very least there will be less wind noise. Also, Harrison if you want to give my old tires a try, you can. They look small and silly, but they may surprise you. I'm sure they have a couple autocrosses left in them. |

Colby, do you mean you're going to record just the audio with your phone (while your camera records the video)? If so, the absolute best place to record audio on the track is from the area of your rear license plate. I'm not kidding! When I was messing about with several of those thumb-sized cameras (geez, that was three years ago!), the audio recorded by the camera mounted by the rear license plate sounded awesome. It picked up the roar of the engine/exhaust, and of the tires squealing... and... NO wind noise! [EDIT] Here's a blast from the past to demonstrate the quality of audio recorded from the rear license plate area. (There's one digital audio glitch almost half-way through that sounds like a backfire, and there's a digital video glitch almost at the end where the fella putting the cone back in the stop box sort of "freezes" for a split second. Not bad quality though considering those dinky little cameras only cost me five bucks apiece on eBay.) BC Corvette Club Autocross Sept 25, 2010 Edited by Patrick |
