It was the first time I used this program for the video/data stuff. there is an option to offset the data when you put it all together but I wasn't sure how to make sure how much to change it. The iPhones GPS is only 1Hz and accurate to like 50 feet or something so makes for some pretty crappy data on small tracks like autoX's. I am looking into getting a better GPS unit so I can have more useful data at the end.
this is what I used Edit to bring it to this page

Here's something to investigate:
petreldata.com I know Mike (the main fella behind this) and he's a super avid autocrosser. My old maxqdata setup was 10Hz and works fine for autox. 1Hz is way too slow. |

Pictures are posted Here. Lot's of great shots of Gary's 914/6. This is a good Fiero shot... Colby driving his Formula and Brian's GT sitting in the background.

That's a good picture.
Looks like some impressive software, too bad it as much as it does, but I guess it's targeted towards the more serious competitors. What I have now works well enough for me, even if it has some issues. I actually think that 5Hz is just right for Autocross. The issue is that with the amount of error in these devices, you just aren't covering enough distance in 1/10th of a second for that error to be relatively small enough that you can comfortably ignore it. Of course you can always configure the 10Hz units to operate at 5Hz. |
