Anyone have an exploded view of the 4 speed Muncie?

I'm considering doing a phantom grip install and I want to scope it out ahead of time.

Ya Ya, I know.   However I think its only been 3 Muncies that I blew up. 2 of which were 4spd cases, so I can't really be faulted for that, and 1 was due to a shift pin inside the transaxle popped.    However Chay, I will see what I can find for a Muncie rebuild sheet.  I have never had to rebuild one as frankly it usually costs 4x more to rebuild one than to replace one.

What kind of driving are you planning on doing?

If this is the LSD im thinking about....

Do you like great handling around the corners?

OR

Do you like going straight?

if you like the turns dont go for the LSD

if you want to go straight then go ahead and get a lsd

(I only know this because I also offroad in my B2 and debated getting a rear locker.... i decided against it because it isnt a soley offroad vehicle.)

Well, given your comments I think you may not be aware of the difference between the two. Please correct me if I'm wrong 'cause I don't want to come off as arrogant.

 

A LSD is just that...limited slip. It will slip around a corner so long as you don't spin both wheels. It's actually an advantage in cornering as torque will transfer from the slipping wheel to the rolling wheel.

 

A locker depends on loose ground as one wheel has to slide in order for a turn to be made. Definately offroad use only, and then probably only in the sand/mud/snow, not on twisiting hill climb etc.
