Marianne was at the club meeting last night. I'm pleased to report that she still looks more like my pictures from 25-30 years ago than that picture posted of her from the club function in 2003. Funny (or not so funny!) how lighting and lenses and angles can distort how a person really looks. And she's just as talkative as she ever was! So it was great to see Marianne again. We caught up on a lot, but we've just barely scratched the surface. Another meeting is definitely in order!

Wow another Blast From The Past Moment happened again - via my email!
Just received a note from Janice Skinner (remember her?) Confederation Hall in Bby is hosting a "Staying Alive Party" for all Temp grads for the years 69-79. It' going to be on Oct 24 but tickets (35 dollars) must be paid before Oct 4th. Guest are welcome. Whooo hoooo I can dance to the Bee Gees again, Blondie, Donna Summers!!!!! PS. Pat I am humbled you think I look the same but I do think your eyesight is failing. My lack of response was not shock...stupid internet problems and they are sending someone over Tues to fix it. PSS- I only talk a lot cause I have a lot to say! Marianne |

Ha Ha...Well I still have the keys to one!!! Guess I should pass them along
to the new owner as I found yet another set just today. I've been absent but you guys haven't been far from my thoughts and have some news to share with Ex-Templetonians. I tried to avoid it but people kept bugging me to join facebook. Seems the old Temp group has their own site which I can pass along if anyone is interested. Anyone is welcome to join and covers a 10 year span for those associated with that high school whether they made it to grad or not. Hope everyone is doing well and I'm going to try to make it to a meeting in Sept perhaps. Pat had planned on having coffee and chatting about the "Ole days" but still going a bit crazy with the reno's going on at my place. My life is not my own these days as my schedule revolves around when the work crew is supposed to show up. Cheers! Marianne |

No problem, Marianne. It took us 25 years to meet up again. What's a couple more months for our next chat?

Marianne was conspicuous by her absence at the September meeting. It was so quiet.

That may also be because you didn't have me yelling across three tables during conversations. But on Patty's point, where are you Marianne? You're a cool lady, we need you at those meetings. |

I wasn't going to say anything, but... Where the heck were you? I thought you'd want to come say "Au revoir" to us all before you headed up north.

Hi!!
I spent the last couple weeks sitting in a chair at the edge of my sons hospital bed. Had to wear a visor, hospital gown, gloves, ect..no phone or even paper allowed in the room due to possible contamination. So it was if I dissapeared off the face of the earth for a bit. whew it was scary! He had what we thought was the flu, it became worse, so we ended up at the hospital. They transferred him to Royal Columbian and he eventually had brain surgery in order to relieve the pressure of fluid build up in his skull.! Turned out he had meningitis which only occurs in 200-300 of the population yearly in Canada. Still we feel fortunate as he's now recovering at home. So guess that's a good excuse for missing the meeting and not as yet getting together with you Pat for a cup of coffee. Sigh my life has to have these weird twist of fate. On another note - I kept getting emails bugging me to join facebook. Oh no - no time! Eventually when he was at home I finally had time to check it out. I was curious and turned out that Temp High School is online and you guys would love seeing all your former friends! Not to mention an upcoming renunion to be held sometime in Oct. The facebook site is mainly people from a 10 yr period (our age group). Marianne PS I'll return with the info if you guys want to check it out. |

Geez Marianne, sorry to hear you've had your hands full with your son's health problems. Glad to hear however that he appears to be getting better! The cup of coffee can wait until you've got some spare time. Hopefully that won't take another 25 years though.

Family always comes first, so please be with him. Cars come 2nd. If Lisa was as sick as your son, the club would need a new person to run EVERYTHING or it would close. Nothing in the world is more important than family.
However if I ever Die en route to to a club meeting, please finish the meeting. Then at my funeral, bring all the Fiero's you can find, oh and please bury me with the steering wheel in my left hand, the shift knob in the right hand, a gas pedal pushed right in at the floor of my case. Maybe the smell of track bit in the air. |
