Just wondering, i have the muncie 4 speed with the stock
v6, and how strong are these transmissions generally, and
are they any good for drag racing or road racing?

With a V6 or a mild V8 assuming the trans is in fair shape
to begin with, they are almost indestructible.   Several
people had made 11 second drag racing passes with 400+hp
and 500lbs of torque even some nitrous fed V8's. It is
known to be the strongest Fiero Transaxle out there.

just watch how you launch you could still end
up cracking a case, ask the capt. You will want
a little tire spin off the line, if you hook right
up i have seen the cases split

The split cases were all the early cases from 84, he has an
86GT with the later re-enforced case, so he should be fine,
thats the same tranny I ran the nitrous passes through wtih
my old V6.

So, did you ever figure out what the "click" was in that tranny?
