As the title implies, the front-upper ball-joint on my 88 has about 1-2cm of play in and out when I grab the top of
the tire. Can this be fixed (tightened) or do I need to
replace it?

Ball joints are a replacement item. I know people absolutely adore the Rodney Dickman's, so that's a fairly safe bet. I also personally have had great success with the Moogs. Ultimately though, it's totally up to you. Just don't forget to get an alignment after.

For the lowers, go to Canadian Tire and rent a ball joint separator if you don't already have one. Makes the job so much easier and it's free.

Yes they do, they carry a Delco replacement brand and Moogs. Rodney Dickman's are an order-by-individual item which means they get shipped to your front door.

Actually, Lordco only sells the lower balls for the 88, so
I guess Rodney will get the money.
