I was really going to hold off on this, but....
All in favour of my hitting the 'user delete' button, raise a hand. ![]() Or can someone see the err' in their ways, and let me delete a whack of posts so they can start over? I for one am tired of all this. |

It's hard to tell on pics, is the windshield laid back or is it in stock position ? What door windows are you going to use, since they have to be custom fit to your chop ? Let us know Johnny |

Could always take it to a professional glass shop and get them to form another set that was slanted back.

The windshield is definitely not in its stock position... It's laid back.

*Update - I've been busy over the last few days, so I haven't even been able to lurk on the sites.
I forgot how horrible bondo fumes are. What makes it even better is when you don't get the mix hard enough and it takes forever to cure. It'll fill up your warehouse and your office and your neighbors' warehouses and offices... Horrible... Okay and I'm a chemical guy. I got to looking at this dynalight bondo stuff that sells for a slight premium over regular bondo. The main ingredient is calcium carbonate aka marble as in 'marble floors.' It's a big time filler used in paints and stains, etc. And the other main ingredient in bondo stuff is polyester resin - the same stuff that comprises Fiberglass Resin. So they are basically mixing super cheap marble dust with fiberglass resin to make bondo. That 'waters it down' and then makes it easier to sand and so forth. Marble (calcium carbonate) is actually a metal believe it or not... Okay... So the windshield was WARPED into place during the chop. It was awesome for a little bit - several days. lol now it's cracked and is popping out in the upper corner of the driver's side. The door window slants have now been taken off, because they were made of mesh and fiberglass and resin and I want to remake them not using the metal mesh. Pretty much every hot chick in the USA is awaiting the completion of this ride, but I've decided to really slow down and take my time instead of trying to set proverbial land speed records... I appreciate the support and advice and would appreciate learning some more about the windshield process. Because I'm gonna have to get a new windshield when I'm ready for it... |
